KEVIN SMITH

mine is Clerks :y: I didn't include Jersey Girl or Fletch Won obviously because no one has seen it yet.

Vega 02-03-2004 08:02 PM

For once I have seen almost all the choices (all but first and last)

BTW, Jay & Silent Bob

el fregadero 02-03-2004 08:03 PM

I picked Dogma. I hated Clerks.

Boondock Saint 02-03-2004 08:11 PM

Clerks followed by Mallrats

Jordan 02-03-2004 09:24 PM

Clerks but I am not a huge fan.

Gertner 02-03-2004 09:25 PM

he's over rated

Kane Knight 02-03-2004 09:26 PM

Dogma.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-03-2004 09:29 PM

Chasing Amy

DS 02-03-2004 10:27 PM

I'd have to say Chasing Amy myself.

The Miz 02-03-2004 10:41 PM

i said clerks but he's reallllllllly overrated

loopydate 02-03-2004 11:09 PM

Dogma, with Chasing Amy second.

asphyXy 02-03-2004 11:18 PM

Dogma without a doubt.

FakeLaser 02-03-2004 11:53 PM

Clerks, which is in my top 5 favorite movies ever.

My order from best to worst:
1) Clerks
2) Dogma
3) Mallrats
4) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
5) Chasing Amy

They all own though.

Kane Knight 02-04-2004 12:04 AM

Pretty much all his movies rock.

John la Rock 02-04-2004 01:45 AM

Mallrats

Danny Electric 02-04-2004 03:28 PM

Got to be Mallrats.

el fregadero 02-04-2004 05:55 PM

Alright, would somebody please tell me what is so good about Clerks?

Vega 02-04-2004 06:09 PM

It's not THAT good, probably worse than dogma, mallrats, and chasing amy IMO.

What I really don't get is why he made it black and white, that made it much worse.

Kane Knight 02-04-2004 06:20 PM

Black and white is cool...

Says the B+W photpgrapher.

Disturbed316 02-04-2004 06:27 PM

Of the ones I've seen, I have to agree. But Dogma stands out. Clerks is great too, but you can't beat that smiling Jesus.

"Buddy Christ. That's not the sanctioned name we're using, but doesn't it just...Pop?"

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-04-2004 09:52 PM

He's not the greatest, but he's good at what he does. He makes you laugh, and makes you think a bit but not too much.

Kane Knight 02-04-2004 10:00 PM

Well, if he was TOO thought provoking, he wouldn't be a success.

I tell ya though, he writes some fine dialogue.

samichna 02-04-2004 10:18 PM

I like Clerks

Best part of the movie is when he reads the list of videos the store needs to order. :y: and the Salsa Shark :y:

That he does.

Well if he was too thought provoking it'd be too much like he was trying too hard.

Well yeah, and he wouldn't be in major releases...He'd be doing B+W films for art houses...

He makes you think enough to be a clever writer, but leaves the heavy intellectual pursuit where it belongs...

Seyda 02-04-2004 11:07 PM

Dogma

Such a great speech.

Sin Harvest 02-06-2004 11:38 AM

Oh yes.

Lamuella 02-06-2004 01:18 PM

I coted Clerks, but if it had been on there I'd have foted for "An Evening With Kevin Smith". Funniest DVD ever.

Tornado 02-06-2004 02:02 PM

1) Cheaper.
2) Took down the lighting issues; most of the movie was filmed in the middle of the night. Hence the whole "gum in the locks" thing.
3) Some people think it looks cool.

Frank Grimes Jnr 02-07-2004 01:53 AM

Mallrats.
Jason Lee is the man.

KleptoKlown 02-07-2004 03:22 AM

This should say it all..

I loved it when he gets his hand chopped off, and then he looks directly at the camera and says..."Not again..."
