I dunno, maybe you should ask Vince.

Or maybe the Leprechaun that tells you to burn things

Unfortunately he has trouble lighting matches, and using lighters.

+1.

Did I do that right? It's been a while since someone's been retarded enough for it.
|
I don't think you're supposed to use a period.

Ah, you americans call full stops periods then?I assumed you called brackets periods for some reason.(thought that back in a thread in the casual forum a while back, just realised now i made a mistake ah well, american language is stupid anyway)
Edit-This was meant for Xero Limit. |
The entire English language is fucked up.

LOL@You caring so much. |

I'm not sure if that's entirely true. In college I took political science and the instructor was talking about how important it is to get out there and vote in an election. If I remember correctly, he said there was an election to decide what language was to be spoken in America and it was one vote that led English over I believe German. I've never heard this theory anywhere else so he could have been a fucking retard, but who knows. |

Seriously, man. The guys who make comments about others caring are just assuming their own feelings are universal. |
So, anyway...the title name....
The World Heavyweight Championship is a name that claims global dominance. The WWE Championship only claims dominance in the company itself, and as it stands that it represents the company, it carries only the company name. THe theory that people don't know what division it's for or the prestige it holds, based simply on it not being "The WWE Heavyweight Championship" is like saying the president's image would be lower if we called him "George Dumbass Bush". People know what it is, and revere it as such regardless of the name. That's my bullshit answer, and I'll be damned if WWE could think of anything better. |
Makes sense. Raw is more important, so it's WWE over the world.
|
1) This belongs in the Q&A forum, fuck jerk.
2) There are two main titles. One called the World Heavyweight CHampionship, and the other the WWE Championship. Cena's title doesn't have "world heavyweight" in it; the names are different to distinguish between the two. |
because they don't want to call it the WCW heavyweight title anymore, cock-ass.

For years, WWE (or WWF) had one top title, the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. At some stage, Vince McMahon decided that the word "World" was no longer relevant as, in his arrogance, he felt that the WWE champion would automatically be identified as the foremost champion on the globe. He also forbid his champions from referring to the belt as "the gold" "the belt" "the strap" or any other word which may detract from it's value. When the WCW Invasion ended, the WWE needed to re-name what was until that point the WCW World Championship, as held by The Rock. Having dropped the "World" aspect from their own company's belt a long time ago, and wisely avoiding WCW's route of simply calling it "The Big Gold Belt", the former WCW crown was now named "The World Championship" and was swiftly merged with the original WWE Heavyweight Championship to form the WWE Undisputed Championship. When then-Undisputed champ Brock Lesnar was snapped up to an exclusivity deal with Smackdown in the storylines (up until that point, the Undisputed Championship was a cross-brand title), Raw countered by exhuming the WCW title once more, this time calling it the WWE World Championship. Basically, the two top belts are theoretically supposed to be of equal value, with Rey Mysterio's "WWE World Championship" tracing it's lineage back to the WCW World championship (and depending who you believe, even the old NWA title, although it is debatable that the belt has any history before 1994), and then John Cena's belt carries the tradition of the old WWWF and WWF World Heavyweight Champions of the past. (The same title once held by the likes of Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Bret Hart etc.) Obviously, in an attempt to avoid confusion (although that hasn't proven to be the case) the belts must carry seperate names. And if you were to call, say, Cena's belt the "WWE Raw Championship" it would lose a lot of it's prestige (even more so than letting the man hold it for a year in the first place) and seem more like a TV title. Therefore, you have the WWE World Champion and the WWE Heavyweight Champion. They are simply names to distinguish one from the either. Neither name is particularly relevant. Rey's belt holds no more of a claim to being the "world's" premier title than the NWA, IWGP or, indeed, any number of other titles which are defending across several continents. And the "Heavyweight" championship, which was held by the 180lb Shawn Michaels, speaks for itself too. So when it comes to the titles.... they're just that. Titles. I MUST have a lot of spare time on my hands tonight, huh?? |
It's the same deal with the two tag team titles. World Tag Team champions on Raw, WWE Tag Team titles on Smackdown (although there is no connection to any defunct tag team belts with MNM's title; it was a brand new championship created circa 2003). The only difference is in the name.
|
LOL. Having two main event titles detracts from the value of the titles. I'm not sure a name would hurt any more.
