Question: Games that let you "play God"
You know, I was watching G4's coverage of E3 2006, and I saw a game that piqued my interest. It was called Spore. Basically you got to create your own life form. I went over to EBGames.com and saw that it had a release date of February 2007.
So my question is, are there any other games out there that let you create things, like your own life forms, or anything similar like playing God? |
The game Black & White comes to mind. (Pretty sure sequel has been released too). Basically you literally play a god. You get to raise your own creature(Have to select from Ape, Tiger and Cow if I recall). You rule over a town. The game has certain goals/missions you can do or not do depending if you want to be a Good god or Evil god. Look at a review site or something for more information on it.

Depending on what you want, several of the Sim games let you do various things. SimEarth was fun.
Spore is largely unique though. |
I actually think I own B&W but never bothered to play it. That's added to my list. And I've played all of the Sim games...unfortunately I lost Disc 1 of my Sims 2 set. :( So i can't re-install it.
Any other games? |
Smackdown vs Raw 2006. You can play as JBL who claims to be "a wrestling god"

Yeah I've been pumped about Spore for like 2 years now.
The best "god game" I've played, if it counts, would be Sim City 3000. Love the shit outta that game |
Anything created by Peter Molineux or Will Wright is pretty much a God Game, and they are all awesome. Maybe a few exceptions, but I can't think of any ATM.

...Sorta. He's not a playable character. |
Get a magnifying glass, find an ant hill, and go at it.

Or, for the lazier crowd, Sim Ant always works.

Total Annihilation for the PC is a pretty good creation game. All you need is a little creativity, some design programs, and you can churn out some damn good war machines.

Anyone remember EVO?
