Console prices since 1970s
I found this really interesting...
http://curmudgeongamer.com/2006/05/h...-500-aint.html There are two charts there, showing the prices for both inflated and non-inflated prices. The PS3 isn't the most expensive one. As a matter of fact, it's 3rd (and that includes the $600 one). |
never noticed every nintendo system had a price of $200, hopefully they keep up the trend with the Wii!

Neo Geo was never intended for mass consumption like the PS3 is.
Incidentally, while the numbers are true, there's one other factor that should be calculated into the equation if you want to know the true cost of systems--The spending power of the consumer. Adjusted for such, the PS3 would be even more espensive. It might not beat out the Neo Geo, but it would be significantly higher on that chart. Adjusting simply for inflation is one thing, but it's a foolish or dishonest way to view the adjusted price. |
