The Top 3 greatest NBA players to never win a championship
My 3 would have to be:
-Charles Barkley -Reggie Miller -Karl Malone/John Stockton I really hesitated when i put Karl Malone because i couldn't stand him, but i respect the man. John Stockton was just on the wrong team, IMO. For the all-time assist leader, he should have won at least ONE. |
Kevin Garnett

Since I don't feel like going way back, I'll keep it to players I've actaully seen play.
Patrick Ewing Charles Barkley Karl Malone Notice one thing about all these guys?...Michael Jordan denied them all haha |
- Pete Maravich
- George Gervin - John Stockton Honorable Mention: Charles Barkley, Dave Bing, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Nate Thurmond, Lenny Wilkens... I guess I could keep going, couldn't I? |
It's really amazing for all their numbers that Stockton and Malone didn't win one. I guess that's what Jordan and Hakeem will do to you, but still.
|
Karl Malone
Reggie Miller Pistol Pete/ Stockton tie for me. |
Kobe
|
Pretty much argee with the people that have been said. I'll just add one.
Allen Iverson |
Detlef Schremp
|
barkley isn't in stockton /malone's league

I would have already said AI, but i kind of meant former players.
LOL @ Kobe |
If Iverson stays in Philly he is never winning one.

how is he. What did he ever win or accomplish. What records does he hold?
|
He was only the second player in league history to record 23,000 points, 12,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists. The first was Wilt Chamberlain.
NBA MVP in 1993. Five times on the All-NBA first team, five times on the second, once on the third. By the way, those eleven seasons were all in a row. He's in the top 20 all-time in points, rebounds, and steals. He also made the NBA's 50 Greatest Players Of All-Time list. Now, I personally would rank him a notch below Stockton and Malone, to say that he's not in their league is ludicrous. |
Did you see him play? Oh he didn't really do anything. 22 points a game. 12 boards a game. 4 dimes a game. Outstanding field goal and free throw percentage for a big guy. Shot the three alright. 6'6" but played like a 6'9 or 10 guy.
Not in their league though. No way. |
barkley is not in malone or stockton's league by far. Malone is the greatest power forward in NBA history and Stockton is thr greatest pure poitn guard in NBA history

barkley mvp once, malone twice Barkley 5 time first team all star- Malone 11 first team. 3 time all defensive team malone- 14 time all star- 2 time MVP. Malone- 2nd in points scored Malone- holds record for most consecutive season with 2, 000 points(11) and tied with Jordan for most career Tied with Jabbar for most consecutive seasons avg 20 or more points(17) Malone-Holds the NBA record for most seasons leading the league in free-throws made (seven, 1988-89 to 1992-93, 1996-97, 1997-98) and most consecutive seasons leading the league in free-throws made (1988-89 to 1992-93) , as well as is the all time leader in free throws made. MAlone- Second all time in minutes and field goals MAlone- 7th all time in rebounds You wanna tell me now that Barkley is in Malone's league? |
Yes. He's not as good as Malone, but he's in his league.
|
lol dude I liek Barkley, but Malone is top 5 of all time
|
I wouldn't say top 5. Definitely top 20. And Barkley is in the top 30-40. Both are all-time greats. That's a league.
|
Ftr, I'd put Malone behind:
Michael Jordan Magic Johnson Wilt Chamberlain Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Larry Bird Oscar Robertson Bill Russell Pete Maravich Jerry West John Stockton And that's with just a little digging. Still an all-time great, but he wouldn't make my top ten. |

he's the greatest power forward of all time.
|
Power foward yeah, well debatable if you consider Duncan a PF but top 5 player of all time not even close.
|
duncan is not better than malone.
malone is 2nd all time in career points!!!!! |
But duncan hasn't played as long as Malone yet. Malone is up there in the top 20, but not top 5 or even 10. Loopy has a good listing of the probable top 10..probably not in that order though.
|
My list wasn't really in order. Basically the top three are about right, and then I was just posting them as they came to me.

Malone held on for a couple of years when he should have just hung them so he could get to #2 all time on the scoring list, so I think scroing 25 ppg is more impressive then being #2. Also going back to Barkley, if Malone is the #1 PF of all time you could make a great case for Barkley being #2, so he is definetly in his league. |
Malone also had the luxury of playing with one of the greatest point guards ever for almost his entire career, then after that he went on to play with Kobe and Shaq. Barkley had Kevin Johnson and Dan Marley - good players but not exactly John Stockton or Kobe Bryant

1) Malone
2) Stockton 3) Barkley *) Gervin, Ewing, Miller etc. |
Everyone knows the NBA didn't want to just keep giving the MVP throphy to Jordan every year so they gave it to Karl Malone instead.
Also Tim Duncan is better then Karl Malone |
I now realizethis theard is over a year old and Gertner will never respond
|
Patrick Ewing
John Stockton Reggie Miller |
