Your favorite platform games
 

My favorite platform game of all time goes to Super Mario World. I loved Yoshi. I loved those cute ass baby Yoshi's too. I love the replay value of it too.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a very close second. I loved everything about that game. The music in that game stands out to me too.

Super Mario 3 was pretty awesome too. Flying was really awesome. I wish you got the hammer bros suit more than once in that game. The frog suit will always be awesome. Giant World was awesome.

it's really hard to compare 2D and 3D so I'll seperate

2D...

I have no idea why the Donkey Kong Country games are never contenders for best 2D platformers, it's always the mario games. The DKC games actually make it challenging to find the DK coin and hide it REALLY well, they also hide their bonus levels and actually make them challenging. The game also takes quite a while to beat, and each level is really long, goes upwards too rather than just forward. That said... Donkey Kong Country 2 is my undisputed favourite 2D platformer of all time.

3D...

N64 was the king of 3D platformers, but I don't think any of them are as good as Mario 64. However Banjo Kazooie was also an amazing game. It's a shame Mario Sunshine (as good as it was) didn't live up.

OK, I forgot Commander Keen. FTW

Crap. Forgot about Donkey Kong Country. That game kicked ass. My best friend and I had night school together a few years ago. She would come over after high school and we'd play that game until we had to leave. That game was still awesome considering we were playing it a few months after the PS2 hit shelves and N64 was still hot shit.

It took us a long time to finish Snow Barrel Blast.
