Official "Contract" Signings

When they have televised contract signings like the one on Raw with Cena and RVD. What is it they are signing? Is it a real document or just some shit they put together for show?

Ben Rodrigues 06-07-2006 02:50 AM

They should sell that shit on WWE Auctions.

Ben Rodrigues 06-07-2006 02:51 AM

But in regards to your question - I have no idea.

D Mac 06-07-2006 03:06 AM

ddpBANG where are you.

ddpBANG 06-07-2006 03:42 AM

To tell you the truth, I have no idea and I've seen a contract signing live.

I assume it's fake. Like not a contract for the match specifically, but rather a contract a wrestler would sign when joining or re-signing with the company but with the brand logo on top.

It could just be a bunch of jibberish though.

Skippord 06-07-2006 04:01 AM

Its just Vince McMahon typing I'M RICH BITCH over and over on a couple sheets of paper

I was going to ask this a few days ago, but it slipped my mind.

True story.

Anyway, I always thought they would print off a standard contract from their computers or some shit, and just not edit the text to a specific person, so it looks legit on TV

Kane Knight 06-07-2006 10:59 AM

It's not a real document.

Stickman 06-07-2006 12:30 PM

Not to be condeceneding but how could you think it's a real document? They sign the Wrestling name not their real name so that should be enough. Secondly and probably answer the question even better, it's professional wrestling.

D Mac 06-07-2006 02:31 PM

Just wanted to know what was really on it.

Actually, signing a nickname or alias on some contracts is still legal and binding.

Stickman 06-07-2006 03:20 PM

It's still a fake contract.

Xero 06-07-2006 03:46 PM

There's no such thing as a match contract in the WWE anyway.

Innovator 06-07-2006 04:09 PM

He's signing it He's signing it I can't believe he's signing it.

Team Sheep 06-07-2006 05:09 PM

It's just an A4 piece of paper with the PPV logo on it. :-\

Kane Knight 06-07-2006 10:32 PM

Most of the time it doesn't even look like there's text beyond the letterhead. The exception is when they are supposed to be waving it around, it looks like somethings on there.

I think it's just "Screw Flanders" written a couple hundred times.

Skippord 06-08-2006 03:53 AM

I bet they say nigger over and over

Xero 06-08-2006 09:26 AM

Hey John, if you're reading this, I fucked your girl, friend. She was so hot. I didn't have the heart to tell you so I put it here. I'm sorry, man, you know I love you. See you at Karaoke tonight? - Paul

I"ma tell you guys this one time and one time only: wrestlers don't sign contracts for every stinkin' match. They work for Vince and do what he commands, for he is God. That is all.

Fox 06-11-2006 02:58 AM

"I, the participant, do hearby solemnly swear to wrestle my match at the next Pay-Per-View event, in an attempt to put over, and be put over by, my opponent. I pledge to honor those who came before me, and set the way for those who follow in my path. I will follow the road agent's direction of this match accordingly and accurately. I will be attentive to the referee's signals as well as the reactions from the fans. I will put on the best match that I possibly can, putting forth excess effort for the best result."

(Also, I am fully aware that Bret screwed Bret, and Vince McMahon has no sympathy for Bret Hart. What he did was selfish. I will not be so.)
