Underutilized Superstars

When I learned Goldust had been placed back on the roster I was excited, but now Goldust is just a shell of what he was-no wonderful entrance- no ropes- no anything that made him grand, what an absolute tragedy. Are there any other superstars in the WWE that you feel are underutilized. Oh... and Bobby Lashley is not main event material.

Hey buddy, wanna know why you have 16 posts and a red dot, just think back to how many lame ass threads you made, that will give you a hint FuckFace

DaveWadding 06-08-2006 07:13 PM

So wait, Eddie Guerrero is a hack, but you love Goldust?

You wanna fill me in here?

Bad Company 06-08-2006 07:27 PM

Goldust/Dustin Runnels is very underrated.

Xero 06-08-2006 08:27 PM

LOL, remember that thread about Goldust having the potential to be as big as The Undertaker?

Then again, I'm sure a thread similar to that could have been made in the early 80s...

"Does The Incredible Hulk have the potential to be as big as Buddy Rogers?"

I like the "Marty Janetty likes to Rock!" Headline at the top of the Magazine lol

Nunzio, I am really excited to see him in ECW

Ben Rodrigues 06-08-2006 10:48 PM

I really hope they don't keep calling him Nunzio.

LITTLE GUIDO MARITATO!

Honestly, if Guido was not a cruiserweight and was the same size as Kurt Angle he'd easily be a top mid-carder, if not a main eventer. The guy can deliver the goods in the ring, has a character + charisma, and can work a mic.

Ben Rodrigues 06-08-2006 11:43 PM

Yeah - love the Sicillian Shooter. Hopefully under Paul E's booking - we can see him as he once was in ECW.

Big Show and Kane.

In all the years of their being in WWE, Vince has never booked either of them in an unstoppable monster angle. Sure, they've each been booked as "monsters" at one point or another in their careers, but never to the extent that they ought to take a 7 ft 500 pounder.

Mr. Nerfect 06-11-2006 09:13 AM

Oh, where to begin?

I have a thing for Val Venis and Doug Basham. Venis came from similar circles as Edge and Christian (I think), so it's kind of upsetting to see both Edge and Christian progress in their careers, but whenever Sean Morley starts building momentum, they cut him off at the feet. Hopefully his injury is a blessing in disguise, and Venis can return to at least being a solid mid-carder.

Now onto Doug Basham. I take a lot of ribbing for this, but the guy is a wrestling machine. If they put him in the ring with some half-talented guys, he can be something more than Velocity filler. Stick him back with Damaja and let them feud with Paul London & Brian Kendrick over the WWE Tag Team Championship. Both Bashams are sorely underutilized in their current positions. What are they doing?

Nunzio is another. The guy is a machine, and it's a shame the WWE doesn't let him show it more. He's pretty much a "lifer", though. Vince McMahon is apparently in love with him. Hopefully he can do stuff in the new ECW.

Simon Dean needs to go back to being Nova, ASAP.

Kane should be killing things. Why is he not killing things?

Gunner Scott, Shelton Benjamin, Paul Burchill, William Regal, Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Jamie Noble, Finlay and Charlie Haas should be wrestling MOTY candidates. Why are they not wrestling MOTY candidates?

I must say, it really disturbs me that Goldust doesn't have him robe anymore. Don't ask me why, it just does. The guy seems more washed-up when he doesn't have the dignity of a swank-ass robe.

Matt Hardy is currently a mid-carder. Remember Mattitude? Remember his heat with Edge? There was a time when I salivated at the thought of a Mattitude vs. Thuganomics match. That's right, for a while Matt Hardy was on the level of John Cena in my eyes.

There is no reason why Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway's characters should not have evolved past the current roles they are playing. Dinsmore needs to snap out of being a retard, and Conway needs to be used as a serious mid-carder.

Why is there a dying Women's Division, yet Jillian Hall is on SmackDown!? Why is there a dying Women's Division, yet Victoria never does anything more than appear as Candice's sidekick? The mysteries of life.

I could probably go on all night.

Ben Rodrigues 06-11-2006 09:25 AM

I think Vince would be pretty happy with Simon Dean as the fall guy to emergiing faces due to the amount of heat he gets - so I can't see him changing that.

Ben Rodrigues 06-11-2006 09:26 AM

But hey - what do I know.

The Icon of Elisim 06-11-2006 10:55 AM

I love Simon Dean. Its played perfectly, the promos are always gold and the matches are fun even they are usually squashes. Obviously it'd be better if they'd push him but I'd rather he keep the character

Aussie Skier 06-12-2006 10:52 PM

I think Charlie Haas has been underutilized...I guess he's a bit bland, but I've always like him more than Shelton B. William Regal is another one who has always been underutilized. Maybe his gimmick meant he just could never take that next step to the main event...but he used to get awesome heat in his feuds with RVD, Edge and Jericho.

Alienoid, I'm not exactly sure if you were implying that Shelton Benjamin is underutilized or not...but if you are, then thats complete crap IMO. The guy has been a singles wrestler for only 2 years (i think), he is a current mainstay in the midcard. He still doesn't get great crwod reactions, so I dont think you can say he's underutilized.
As for Gunner Scott...he's only been around for a month right?

Both Shelton Benjamin and Gunner Scott are capable of great things. They can wrestle classics. Are they given the chance? No. Hence underutilised. I'm not talking about their position on the roster, but rather the leash that's put on them.

I love the Simon Dean character, but Mike Bucci deserves a notable career. He can achieve that as Nova. Bucci plays the character fantastically, but right now the SmackDown! roster is in need of face cruiserweights. Having the Simon Dean character replaced with a face Nova is the right move to make, in my opinion.

Nuh uh! There was no internet in the 80s, stupidhead!

Shut up buttbreath or I'm telling!

Chavo Classic 06-13-2006 11:23 AM

I refuse to acknowledge the existence of Simon Dean. Velocity has ruined my loving memories of Nova and Chris Chetti busting it open.

But admitting that Velocity has ruined Nova would HAVE to involve you acknowledging Simon Dean.
