What upsets me now is that if this show happened tomorrow, Davey would get screwed out of the win just for the egos in the company.

I really miss the days of 25 plus minutes of two great technical workers, trading strikes and kicks, holds and counter-holds, a few high spots (but not too many, no one likes an obvious spot fest), and a clean finish. In my opinion the beginning of 1998 was when we started to see less of this. The Attitude Era had some compelling storylines, but lets face it, its what happens in the ring which makes up the bulk of that which we, as wrestling fans, want to see the most.
The matches between the members of the Hart Foundation were perhaps the best of the 90s. Bret vs Davey, Owen vs Bret, Davey vs Owen - all of them classics. I was really disappointed that the 1997 Hart Foundation angle couldn't have lasted longer than it did, but let's not dwell on that now ... :y:
I also heard that Bret and Davey explained to Vince that having them in the main event would sell out the show and I think it was the best place on the card for the match, even though it was for a midcard title. I think that having the WWF title match end cleanly may have overshadowed the importance of the IC title match, especially for the British fans. I also believe that there are too many egos in WWE today, and its a shame that the better workers are passed over for poor to mediocre ones who the management think are over with the fans.
