The most perfect film in history

The Godfather (part 1)

would you agree?

The Naitch 06-10-2006 11:34 PM

the opening scene is a classic

Boondock Saint 06-11-2006 01:43 AM

Good choice, but I'd have to go with Citizen Kane or Casablanca.

Smitty 06-11-2006 02:03 AM

I would agree...Part II is close to perfect as well.

Fox 06-11-2006 03:30 AM

Perfect? No. I don't think so.

PapaGeorgio 06-11-2006 03:51 AM

I always have troube deciding between Part 1 and 2. Recently watched Part 1 again and leaning toward that now. I think if Part 1 including the DeNiro flashback scenes like in the book it be perfect but to long. But I'll say its perfect

Skippord 06-11-2006 05:29 AM

Part 3 > All

ct2k 06-11-2006 01:20 PM

Problem with all 3 Godfather's is they're too romantic, too glitzy, they paint the Mob as something deserving of respect, which it most certainly is not. Otherwise a friggin amazing set of films:D

Part II is much better. Thus, it is more perfect.

Casablanca gets my vote.

Screenplay = Perfect
Direction = Perfect
Performances = Perfect
Cinematography = Perfect
Timing = Perfect

Greatest movie ever made.

Kane and the first Godfather are right up there, but Casablanca tops 'em both, imo.

Disturbed316 06-11-2006 04:19 PM

Assablanca was a bit of a let down.

ClockShot 06-11-2006 08:51 PM

Godfather 1 and 2 were fantastic. But let's not forget The Wizard of Oz.

Citizen Kane, if you have sat and actually watched this movie and studied it... you see SOOO many things that are just astonishing... Perfect.

John la Rock 06-12-2006 02:11 AM

Yes The Godfather (and Part II) are perfect in every way

Pulp Fiction gets my vote as well

KillerWolf 06-12-2006 11:43 AM

Unforgiven
Gladiator
LA Confidential
Open Range

to me, these are pretty close to being perfect films.

ClockShot 06-12-2006 09:41 PM

Oh shit. Lawrence of Arabia was amazing as well. Along with The Ten Commandments.

That's got my vote. It takes time to build it's story, and each scene acheives exactly what it is going for.

Smitty 06-13-2006 09:26 PM

Dr. Strangelove is pretty solid as well....so is One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Stickman 06-14-2006 02:35 PM

It's not perfect seeing as there was visible errors in the movie, but 1 and 2 are definatly the best movies ever.

The Mask 06-14-2006 05:34 PM

yeah the first godfather two are great. i'm also a huge fan of adaptation

John la Rock 06-14-2006 05:45 PM

Goodfellas is up there as well

TerranRich 06-14-2006 05:57 PM

See No Evil.

Yes, I am kidding.

PapaGeorgio 06-14-2006 06:24 PM

I think The Elephant Man deserves mentioning here. It has the top spot for my favorite movie of all time.

HoganNosDeezNutz 06-15-2006 01:17 AM

I would say the greates movie of all time is Pulp Fiction, I also enjoyed Crash, but Godfather was a classic and FUCK CASABLANCA, I would rather watch See No Movie....I mean See No Evil....J/K
