N64 Questions

So I recently bought an N64 from ebay, and I got all the WWF and WCW games with a few others. But its got all the stuff the previous owner saved still on it. And I want to start from scratch. 1st off, how do i clear it. And secondly, I know alot of you guys love No Mercy, so seeing as there is no manual and I'm new to the N64, anything that stands out about the game?

I always loved No Mercy. It was a great simulation wrestling game. Slower pace, but it was awesome.

As for clearing, there is a button combo to push when you start the system. I don't remember it right now, but I think it's one of these button configs. Hold these down while starting the system, you should get a clearing dialog from one...

L/R=Shoulder buttons

L+R+Z
L+R+Z+Start
Z+A+B
Z+A+B+Start

I'm pretty sure it's the second one, but I could be wrong.

If it's an old enough copy of No Mercy, it will randomly erase itself anyway, but it will probably wait until you've poured hours of effort into editing the roster to your liking, buying out the SmackDown Store, and playing through all of the story modes.

...not that I'm bitter.

I have an N64 Question.

My N64 won't turn on at all, and I'm really too lazy to bring it in anywhere. Does anyone have experience with this and maybe give me some tips on what to do?

Funky Fly 06-24-2006 05:55 PM

Bring it in somewhere. Don't play with complex electronics.

Penner 06-24-2006 06:32 PM

Yeah I guess you're right :/

LOL. Yeah, I kept sending them e-mails about this, and they kept telling me there was no problem.

i remember the abject horror as you spend about an hour setting up a ppv with all your awesome custom made people and then that fucking scratching music started and the default guy came out.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-25-2006 03:31 PM

lol yup

I think the second time it happened I shut it off as soon as the genertic music hit. I can't remember if that worked or not though...so dunno why I am really bringing this up but alright good talk, see you out there

Disturbed316 06-25-2006 04:14 PM

Dip digady dog....SOCKO

Xero 06-25-2006 06:29 PM

ROFL, What the fuck WAS up with that music?

Disturbed316 06-26-2006 03:20 PM

Socko was the only word I could make out.

loopydate 06-26-2006 03:33 PM

I think there's also a "Know your role" in there, too.

Xero 06-26-2006 03:55 PM

Yeah, there is.

Disturbed316 06-26-2006 05:10 PM

It still beats the stuff on more recent games though that plays during the matches.

McLegend 06-26-2006 05:22 PM

The music that was played in the background during matches in WCW vs NWO Word tour is still the best.

FUCK YES! Often I find myself having some of that music still stuck in my head all these years later.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-29-2006 02:54 AM

ROFL I hooked up my N64 and played No Mercy just now for the first time in years and noticed I had a ton of shit unlocked. I went to continue my game to try to win the IC title (apparently I won all the other ones - I musta been the man back in the day) and after I lose in the handicap match to X pac and Triple H I go back and see all my shit has been deleted lol :'(

I still remembered how to do everything in the game tho without even having to think about it, kinda ridiculous seeing how I haven't even plugged in my N64 in atleast 2 years.

The Mask 06-29-2006 09:46 AM

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-29-2006 03:19 PM

I guess not

The Mask 07-03-2006 12:52 PM

i think it took them liek 6 months or longer to release the game without it cocking up horrifically, and then they took the blood out
