What do you guys think of the show "24"

I think it is one of the best on TV

Boondock Saint 02-05-2004 03:49 PM

It is without a doubt one of the best shows on TV today. Now that Oz is off. Especially this past week, the writers proved again that they always know what they are doing and come through with clever turns that we don't see coming.

This baby thing I am skeptical about, but this week showed that they may have a trick up their sleeve. Wait and see. As long as it isn't season 3's version of the amnesia plotline from season 1, or Kim's mountainlion plotline from season 2. Dear god.

Disturbed316 02-05-2004 04:54 PM

I  24

New series is about to start soon over here, I HAVE to see the second one first though. I got it on dvd, just haven't got round to watching it

el fregadero 02-05-2004 06:00 PM

It's the only non-comedy show that I watch on television.

loopydate 02-05-2004 06:36 PM

"24" is the best drama on TV right now, hands down. It's incredibly well-written (except for the occasional lapse of judgment in Kim's storylines), and the acting is top-notch. I did NOT see this week's twist (not going to spoil it for those Disturbed, but everyone else who saw it knows what I'm talking about) coming.

Loose Cannon 02-05-2004 06:59 PM

I missed weeks episode. Someone tell me what happened???? But yeah, 24 is definately one of my favorite TV shows right now. But I think it's gone down a little sincw the first season. That season was so fk'n good and it would be hard to match it anyway I guess.

loopydate 02-05-2004 07:09 PM

LC, I sent you a Private Message about what happened Tuesday night.

Loose Cannon 02-05-2004 07:48 PM

Thanks a lot loopy. Dammit I can't believed I missed that. I have been waiting the whole season to see what you said happend to one of the guys. AHHHHHH

Dam I can't rep you. :-\

AareDub 02-06-2004 07:46 PM

The first season was great, the second was almost as good. This 3rd season is absolute crap.

ilt_undertaker 02-06-2004 08:43 PM

I've never seen it

John la Rock 02-06-2004 10:10 PM

loopydate 02-10-2004 09:46 PM

HOLY F</>UCKING SHIT!!! Is anybody watching this? Nina is an Evil Goddess!

Loose Cannon 02-10-2004 10:00 PM

I Know, that was great loopy. Gotta Love Jack's little speech to Nina after they fixed it though

loopydate 02-10-2004 10:02 PM

Good ep tonight. I wish they hadn't teased the Milliken thing last week, though.

Loose Cannon 02-10-2004 10:06 PM

I love how Jack just goes up to anybody and puts a gun to there head without even thinking twice about it.

LMAO   I could actually see him doing that if he were on one of his missions.

loopydate 02-10-2004 10:24 PM

I should write for this show.

JACK: The following takes place between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM on Christmas day.

*Jack and Kim are opening presents. Kim starts to unwrap a big one, Jack whips out his gun*

JACK: No. You open the little ones first.

KIM: But, Dad...

JACK: Not NOW, Kim. You have to open the little boxes before the big one or the big one doesn't make any sense.

KIM: Dad, put away the gu--

JACK: DAMMIT, Kim! I don't have time for this! Open the little boxes now!

*The phone rings*

JACK: Bauer.

KIM: Dad, it's your home nu--

JACK: KIM!

TONY: Jack, it's me.

JACK: What is it Tony?

TONY: Somebody hijacked Santa's sleigh. They're threatening to use it to haul WMDs out of Siberia.

JACK: Tony, it's Christmas morning. I'm opening presents with Kim...

TONY: Jack, you know Santa better than anyone. You were undercover as an elf for three years.

JACK: Any idea who's behind this?

TONY: Yeah.

JACK: Who?

TONY: Nina Myers.

*Dramatic music*

KIM: It's Nina Myers, isn't it?

*Blam!*

Loose Cannon 02-10-2004 10:26 PM

OMG, You Rule loopy. Write some more of this.

loopydate 02-10-2004 10:28 PM

You mean write more of the Christmas one, or just these in general? I'm considering writing a full-length episodic parody of "24," since this is so damned fun.

Boondock Saint 02-10-2004 10:28 PM

good episode

Whatever you want, these are hillarious

loopydate 02-10-2004 10:31 PM

A'ight. It's gonna take me a little while to do a full-length one, though. Last post of the night in this thread, we swears it.

Did Kim just die or did the bomb detonate? I know you didn't mention a bomb, but there's always something with the possibility of detonating hehe.

I think you forgot part at Wendy's too....

Jack: This show has been on for twelve hours and I haven't eaten yet, you better put three meat patties on that burger

Worker: Sir, you know I can't do that. It's against protocol

Jack: Damnit, we don't have time for protocol!! Lives are at stake here!

Worker: Sir, I told you. I could lose my job if I get caught giving you three patties

Jack: What's more important? Your job or your life?

Worker: But sir...

Jack: NOW!! We don't have much time!

The CyNick 02-10-2004 11:42 PM

The X-Mas thing was pretty damn funny.

Ive been a huge fan of 24 since the Summer when I got both seasons on DVD. This is the first season Ive seen as it airs, and I have to say its awesome stuff (it might be better than Sopranos which until the Summer I thought was far and away the best show on TV). I cant wait for every new episode. If the WWE wroters had half the talent the 24 staff does, the WWE would kick so much ass, but no wrestling talk here.

I really like the season thus far, the 'heels' this season are way better than last, I'm not sure anyone can touch Victor Drazen's cheesy accent though.

I dont want to spoiler anything about season 3, but maybe someone should put up a new thread with a Season 3 spoiler warning.

I heard they are going to be off all 4 weeks in March, which means the show in two weeks will likely have some major cliffhanger so we can all go crazy for a month. On the positive side of things, the last 9 episodes will run straight without any interruption, which is cool.

AareDub 02-11-2004 10:40 AM

Yea, they always find some way to make us wait for like a month. I was so pissed off during the first season when they were off for most of December/January. I lived in dorms at the time and my roomate hated the beeping noise it made when it showed the clock. He always tried to convince me that they were going to cancel the show mid-season because it wasn't getting a lot of viewers. When they took that month long break I started to believe him and got really pissed off.

Disturbed316 02-11-2004 11:41 AM

God damn i still haven't watched any of season 2 yet

Season 3 starts tomorrow, would I be lost if I didn't watch the second season?

Not really. Most of the important background stuff for Season 3 came out in Season 1.

There are some new characters that get introduced and/or killed in the 2nd season. But, if you got the cliffnotes on S2 you wouldn't be that lost at all.

Hey, it takes less than 24 hours to watch the whole season, so if you start now you might be done in time.

Sephiroth 02-11-2004 02:28 PM

First time i saw it i thought :-\ but when i watched it more, its pretty okay and now i like it alot

The first few minutes of season 3 show the end of season 2, but then it does one of those "3 years later" things if I remember correctly. Other than that there is practically no relation between the two series. There will be a few new characters for you, but you can pick up on them pretty quick.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-13-2004 10:12 AM

24 owns!

I would be able to watch the new series.

BUT NO!

Sky one now has it, as they stole it off the BBC. So I have to go without...until it comes on video, within which case I will watch it then.

The Destroyer 02-13-2004 10:46 AM

Never bothered with Season 1 or 2, but I watched the first episode of Season 3 last night and it seemed quite good. Advert breaks in a realtime show are just stupid though. And the camerawork seemed annoyingly shaky...

OssMan 02-15-2004 05:32 PM

i think it's great, just kinda pissed me off at how if you miss a show it's impossible to watch the next episode

Razor Rybek 02-15-2004 05:45 PM

"24" Rocks!!!

Advert breaks in this season :n:
