Why is Test being rehired?

I remember Test when he was in the WWE he was not that great it is like running promos saying Billy Gun is returning.

Xero 06-29-2006 11:13 AM

Two reasons. Vince likes living in the past and Vince likes big men. When you get those two together he has a timegasm.

Impeccable 06-29-2006 12:17 PM

He was a solid worker. That's why. Okay, so he wasn't that talented, but he had some good matches and feuds (with the exception of Scott Steiner...eugh). I remember some of the stuff he did with Shane McMahon back in 1999.

If they'd have built on what happened to him with the whole Triple H/Steph wedding angle, he could have been huge. He was getting some GREAT crowd reaction at that time.

He was let go when he was having trouble overcoming an ankle injury. A little unfair, but I'm glad he's been given this chance.

Yea, not only should Test not have been fired upon his injury inflicted by Shane the wonderboy, but test should have been managed better after the whole wedding angle. The fued with Steiner and Stacy Kiebler should not have happened. Goodness the WWE sucked then.

James Steele 06-29-2006 12:43 PM

I thought he was recovering from a broken neck.

Impeccable 06-29-2006 02:58 PM

My bad guys. Thanks for pointing that out.

Just seemed that the ankle injury he sustained was mentioned alot back on WWE programming, that's where I got the idea from.

Once again, thanks.

loopydate 06-29-2006 03:44 PM

I think it's hilarious that the WWF made a big deal when they brought back X-Pac, and had him cut a promo about how WCW had fired him while he was rehabbing an injury and how bad WCW was for doing that.

...then they turn right around and do it to Andrew Martin. And they release Charlie Haas for taking time off...to go on his honeymoon!

Azriel 06-29-2006 03:53 PM

not to mention releasing Dawn Marie because she was pregnant

Any one else half expected the One to jump out of the bushes and stab this guy?

Kane Knight 06-29-2006 11:09 PM

The real reason:

Vince thought of two more "Testicle" jokes he could make.

Xero 06-29-2006 11:10 PM

So he's going to team with Balls?

He's too busy teaching his new friend how to play "Peter Pan."

TerranRich 06-30-2006 01:27 PM

Vince: I got it! Test could be the Tester, and all of his fans...are his...HIS...HIS TESTEES!!!
Heyman: But Vince, that--
Vince: TESTES TESTES TESTES!!!!

diothoir 06-30-2006 10:03 PM

I was hoping he'd be a bodyguard for Matt Stryker so he could talk about how "you should've been paying attention and now you have to pass the test". Then Test annihilates some guy.

And hilarity ensues.

Test is being rehired because the wwe loves to rehire midgets than high profile bullshitters

Bull!

Xero 07-02-2006 06:45 PM

I didn't know that being 6'6" made you a midget...

Afterlife 07-02-2006 07:46 PM

Test has about the same ability as -- if not more than -- Randy Orton. And, in my opinion, he's less of a scumbag. And if anyone deserves to be rehired strictly on apologetic status, it's him. The company fucked him bad with his injury, and it's about time they make up for it.

korinkahn 07-02-2006 09:19 PM

But Test has no personality-he can't talk

FourFifty 07-03-2006 12:14 AM

He's coming back because that's one less guy TNA can sign.

That's why they're putting him in ECW. He's a big, scary dude who looks like he can kick your ass. He doesn't need to talk.

...although I wouldn't complain if he got a bunch of interview time that resulted in humorous captionable pictures. Especially if said pictures also include Stacy Keibler, Ultimo Dragon, Abyss, Batista, Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, Shane McMahon, Chris Benoit, AJ Styles...

Okay. So, maybe not.

Innovator 07-03-2006 01:12 AM

don't forget about Punk too Loopy

Shadow 07-03-2006 01:36 AM

Ok...the true reason that Test is being rehired...is to annoy us.

Vastardikai 07-03-2006 02:16 AM

Actually, during 1999, I thought for sure that Test was the next big thing in this business. The Test-Stephanie angle really drew in the female fans and, although Test is a Horse-faced bastard, I guess some could find him attractive. Russo's leaving fucked him over harder than anyone else, as the Marriage thing was one of Russo's major projects, and only he knew how it was gonna end initially (Knowing Russo, it was probably gonna be the revelation that Test was actually the son of Vince and some hooker, but...)

Afterlife 07-03-2006 06:06 AM

I, too, began to see Test as a future WT holder. Boo if you must, but I have no trouble seeing him as a future ME guy.

Of course! How could I forget? And Eric Bischoff, Steve Austin, Greg Helms in his Hurricane outfit, Triple H, BG James dressed as a pirate, Buff Bagwell, Scott Steiner, Rhino, Godzilla...

One of my pet peeves is that nobody can be accepted on the internet unless they can meet the watermarks of Kurt Angle or Chris Jericho or even the Rock.

Not that I find Test especially useful, but I really hate this whole "He can't talk" shtick in the first place.

I think it was sussposed to end with Test being attracted to Linda.

The only reason I bring up the fact he can not talk is b/c he is being billed as potentially main event material in my eyes- once you start spending promo money ie, the Highlanders, you bluid expecations and if Test is lacking in charm or wrestling ability it is like a slap in the face, if you know Test is not the total package just let him run out to the ring and interfere in a match so JR can go "OHH MY GAWD!!! ITS TEST GAWDDD!!! "NEVER SAY NEVER IN THIS BUSINESS!"

Kane Knight 07-03-2006 07:36 PM

Test was a decent guy in WWE, though. And there's fuck all for ME material in ECW right now, so it fits. Test could be big without being on the mic, because that's not what the new ECW is supposed to be about.

He's not the total package, but he clearly got the job done.

korinkahn 07-06-2006 09:46 PM

I must say Test was In superb condition on ECW, he looked better than I recall I can only hope ECW does not mess this guy up.
