Marvel Ultimate Alliance

How has a thread not been made on this yet?

Anyhow, It's like x-men legends except instead of just playing as x-men, you play as heroes from the entire marvel universe.

150 characters in the game, although there hasn't been any clear answer to how many of these characters are villians and playable heroes.

xbox 360 version will have actual 3d graphics as opposed to the cel-shading, current gen systems will get.

Still goes with the confusing and silly idea of meshing the ultimate and 616 universes together.

There will probably be more villians than heroes, as I saw radioactive man in one of the shots. Meaning they will be digging deep into the pool of villian obscurity.

Finally, SWEET, friggin winter soldier is in this game.

Blitz 07-02-2006 01:40 AM

If Moon Knight, Ghost Rider and Deadpool all aren't in.....

Fignuts 07-02-2006 02:03 AM

Ghost Rider is in. (YESSSSSS)

Deadpool could be, since he was in legends 2, and it would therefore be a simple matter to put him in this.

Moon Knight. Well. Don't hold your breath.

Cause then we would only be Mitchnuts.

And that sounds a bit silly.

Blitz 07-02-2006 02:11 AM

:( Poor Moon Knight gets no respect.

The Destroyer 07-02-2006 06:36 AM

I only recently got X-Men Legends II, so I'm really looking forward to this.

I'm betting they'll lay off the X-Men as playable characters (except maybe a handful of the more popular ones) this time round and focus more on the rest of the Marvel universe. Just as long as there's plenty more playable characters than in the previews...

Jimminy Jillickers!

The Destroyer 07-02-2006 07:43 AM

I want to see him battling the worst villain of them all, the Scoutmaster. :(

Kalyx triaD 07-02-2006 11:08 AM

They hooked me in with Blade's inclusion.

Kane Knight 07-02-2006 01:11 PM

Moon Knight would be a good deal.

Isn't Radioactive Man an old Nova enemy? Any chance of Plastic Man, and other fan favorites? Or maybe Paste Pot Pete?

Fignuts 07-02-2006 05:29 PM

Okay so sources are saying that there will only be about 20 heroes with 5 unlockables.

This would tick me off if it were true. 130 villains? Kinda cool, but would be better if there were 50 playable characters, and 100 villains.

Bad call on their part, imo.

Kalyx triaD 07-02-2006 06:30 PM

X-Men Legends had less and I never really played with everyone. So 20's more than enough. Considering the level-up aspect with the characters you will play with, you'll be happy with 20+5 characters. They could've took the easy route and just make an Avengers game with 10 or 11 people, so I'm happy.

Funky Fly 07-02-2006 10:01 PM

Well, Kalyx has a point, but if this is the entire Marvel universe, there are crap loads of guys they could put in it as playable guys. I'm actually surprised Blade gets the inclusion, considering how few comics he's actually been in besides the occasional guest appearance here and there.

Otherwise, *splooge*

Kalyx triaD 07-02-2006 10:37 PM

This is the 'next-gen', why can't we get downloadable heroes?

Skippord 07-03-2006 12:44 AM

Fuck now I need a new keyboard

Yeah, ditto, I never touched a lot of the characters in X-Men Legends II, simply because I didn't really like them. I hardly ever used the likes of Scarlet Witch, Storm, Sunfire and Rogue for some reason.

Should be easy to get at least a few combinations of teams you like from 20 characters.

Kalyx triaD 07-03-2006 07:00 PM

Vendetta:

Spider-Man (Black Costume)
Blade
Ghost Rider
Wolverine

My team is set.

alvarado52 07-03-2006 07:18 PM

your forgot to add you mom into the team. Oh wait, shes on MY TEAM! OHSNAP!

Kalyx triaD 07-03-2006 07:32 PM

The only snap I'll hear is your neck in my BARE HANDS!!

Supervillain moment.

Blitz 07-03-2006 07:57 PM

Anyone got a link to a list of confirmed characters so far?

The Destroyer 07-06-2006 07:39 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel:_Ultimate_Alliance

It's looking a bit b-list here and there places. Still loads to come though.

Fignuts 07-06-2006 09:14 PM

Honestly Blitz, if David Finch leaves Moon Knight, he's probably gonna become a joke again.

The guy's art could make squirrel girl look badass.

I havn't read the new moon knight books, although I hear the writing is good. But without finch, great writing alone won't save the character.

Silent 07-06-2006 10:07 PM

Honestly they could just re-release the old Xmen arcade game and I would be happy.

This game should be fun though.

KingofOldSchool 07-06-2006 10:15 PM

This game should be hot.

Kalyx triaD 07-06-2006 11:35 PM

That X-Men arcade game is a pretty hot free agent for 360/PS3/Wii's retro downloads. That's multiplayer fun. That and Turtles in Time, the greatest arcade fighter ever made.

Fuck yes to both. I also loved the second Ninja Turtles game for NES. Turles in Time ruled. I loved throwing the Foot Clan and have them hit the screen.

Back on topic... This game has potential to be really awesome.

Kalyx triaD 07-06-2006 11:50 PM

Those games are superhero multiplayer games; we were on topic. And dammit, now I wanna play 'em!

Blitz 07-06-2006 11:58 PM

Yeah, both those games were oawesome.

A bowling alley close to me still has the X Men one

Kalyx triaD 07-07-2006 12:10 AM

I'm just noticing something now... They were both Konami games.

Damn.

Fignuts 07-07-2006 01:03 AM

Konami classics collection

lets make it hap'en cap'en

Silent 07-07-2006 09:07 PM

TMNT Turtles in Time was a classic for sure. Xmen was the best though.. nothing like 6 people all playing together.
