Remember, WWE changes its mind ocne in a while. Sometimes dozens of times before the final verdict is in. We even see it on TV sometimes. Anyone remember Kevin Fertig? They were so high on him as Mordecai, then dropped him for how long?

Of course, it could be bullshit, but I seem to remember Meltzer was one of the people who reported this, and he's hardly C-List. I might be remembering wrong, but I'll let someone correct me if I am.

Yeah I remember vignettes of Hirohoto debuting on RAW but then they decided just to keep calling him Kenzo Susuki and sent him to Smackdown.

When the story "broke" I went to PWInsider and the Observer, both had nothing on Punk being deaf

The deaf gimmick would be gold though. They could even tie it into a UFC spoof making fun of their Deaf Fighter.
