I missed out on seeing it at the cinema, which I feel like a dick about now.

But I have it on DVD so it's all good, and they'll probably wham it on as a directors chair film sooner or later at the cinema.

I are too poor to go see it. :'(

City of God is one of my favourite films of all time.

I seen it a while back. It was good shit.

The best film of last year for me. Brilliantly shot and it's amazing that they all got picked off the streets to act in the film.

Not to sound ignorant, but...

It's a Brazilian film about a slum in Rio known as Ciudad dos Dios (City of God), and a bunch of kids who grow up there. It's a true story, which revolves around a gang war involving these kids.

Beautifully shot, and some great acting from the kids (real street urchins apparently). It was one of a number of good Brazilian films that came out in 2002/early 2003, but I've only seen City of God so far.

The director got nominated for an Oscar, but the film didn't get a nod for Best Foreign Picture for some reason.

FINALLY got a chance to see this....EXCELLENT excellent movie.

I rented it off of NetFlix, but haven't had the chance to watch it. I think i'll be watching it within a week's time. I haven't heard anything but praise.

Very good movie, watched it at uni for one of my classes. The shots and acting were excellent. :y:
