So, I was watching <s> Scrubs </s> the Spirit Squad the other day. Well, I wasn't watching them... Lois had the television on so I sat down and watched. And I was thinking...

Family Guy aside, there are talented wrestlers within the SS, I just can't be arsed to give a fuck because the gimmick is so horrible.

Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, Chris Sabin, Chris Jericho, and Chris Benoit could be treated the way the Squad's been treated, and I'd probably want to see them drop off the face of the Earth forever.

Yeh, they're all talented generally but the gimmick is terrible. It was amusing for a few weeks but now it's tired.

I don't think I ever liked the gimmick. The problem is, with wrestling marks, if you hate the gimmick, you hate the person, his family, his sexual preference, and the God that made him.

Say, for example, you say Samoa Joe is great, but his matches in TNA are shit. All the marks hear is "Samoa Joe is [...] shit."

Which is why most of them will never get over after this gimmick. MAYBE one will be successful, but that's about it, and it'll take a lot of effort to have him shake the cheerleader gimmick.

It's much like Eugene, except he's fucked unless they go worked-shoot.

I'm not sure how that relates to what I said though, since the comment you quoted was more about how retarded smarks/marks are.

The point was that the marks will always hate them because of this gimmick.

The Eugene part didn't really make sense though.

I was thinking more the marks who say "OMG You questioned the gimmick! YOU HATE THEM!" The sort of bias internet smarks have. I caught shit for saying Joe is far better than TNA has shown him, for example.

However, rereading what I said, I was vague as fuck and what you inferred is apt. So yeah, pretty right.

Before their debut on Raw I did hear about Ken Doane and Johnny Jeter and how amazing they where so I was surprised they stuck two of them in the same stable along with three other games all with the same gimmick, ring attire so it would be harder for them to stand out.

I dont mind the gimmick. It would be an enjoyable mid card team but the problem is having two guys who are Kenny and Johnny who could be the future of the wwe being stuck in a comedy act,

Considering Vince is much higher on them than anyone else on the Roster not banging his daughter or a 20 year veteran...
