BCWWF 02-06-2004 05:35 PM

The two that I immediately thought of were the Colorado Avalanch and the Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins with the Montreal Canadians.

Hockey gets NO love here at all, pretty ****ed up. Boston College is like top 3 in the nation in hockey or some shit and I didnt even know til a few days ago. DegenerationY 02-07-2004 01:19 AM

John la Rock 02-07-2004 02:09 AM

Real Madrid - Barcelona. Goes beyond sport, and into politics and sovereignty.

Back in the days of Franco, the Spanish government tried to fix the league so that Madrid, the capital city's team would win, and stacked the odds against Barcelona because they represented Catalonian nationalism.

Barcelona fans think it's still happening, and they'd have a point. Real Madrid are given a huge helping hand by the banks and the Madrid council.

Celtic and Rangers is by far the biggest rivalry in Britain.

That Argentinian derby is pretty hot too, I think it's River Plate and Boca Juniors. Fans are always getting killed at the matches and the players kick the shit out of each other.

WTF mother ****ers.

You're leaving out Alabama/Auburn.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-07-2004 06:40 PM

That must not be a big rivalry because I watch college football and I didnt know they were rivals

The Outlaw 02-08-2004 04:31 AM

WTF

You must not pay attention then

Jesus Shuttlesworth 02-08-2004 12:30 PM

Nobody ever says anything about it..its probably only a big deal if you are from 'Bama

The Outlaw 02-08-2004 10:32 PM

It's always advertised on ESPN and ESPN2.

When SI was offering those special videos on collegiate rivals, it was Michigan/Ohio State, Bama/Auburn, and Army/Navy.

So I have no idea where that came from.
