Where does RVD go from here?

So Van Dam finally gets his shot at the big time – breaks the glass ceiling and becomes WWE Champion. Two weeks into his reign, the man gets busted with possession of marijuana – loses not only the WWE Championship but also the ECW World Championship and gets suspended for 30 days.

Now my question is – upon return will RVD be reunited with the ECW World Title or has he permanently burnt that bridge and a certain McMahon will no longer allow him to get any higher then midcard status once again? I know people always say “never say never” but how would Vince answer to stockholders if he allowed the placement of a title belt back on a man recently charged with drug possession?

Kris P Lettus 07-20-2006 11:49 AM

First, to his lawyer's office and then to rehab..

This with lessen his time in "rape you in the ass" prison..

Stickman 07-20-2006 11:55 AM

Didn't Eddie Guerrero get busted once, then released, then rehired, then Champ, then dead?

Ben Rodrigues 07-20-2006 12:02 PM

Guerrero was a mess back then though. And correct me if I'm wrong - but the drug policy didn't outlaw marijuana - it just looks really bad from a public relations point of view.

Yeah but that had the whole 'feel good' factor going on (overcoming his 'demons', no one believed he could do it etc)

RVD's just a stoner.

Corkscrewed 07-20-2006 12:18 PM

A recent PWInsider blurb said that he's gonna be pushed again when he comes back, and since he knows he effed up, when he does come back, both parties will pretend nothing ever happened.

*shrug*

Vince: HEY! RVD?!? Where have you been these past 30 days.

RVD: Oh, you know, there was that "thing."

Vince: WHat thing?

RVD: "You know, that thing that never happened"

VInce: You don't show up for 30 days, and then you don't have a goddamn excuse to offer me??? YOU'RE FIRED!!!

RVD: Ughhh..... Dude.

I could easily picture that happening.

STFU Skippord

Skippord 07-20-2006 01:08 PM

He goes to his Parole officer

St. Jimmy 07-20-2006 01:08 PM

the rumor mill spits out that after his suspension, he's in for a big push. i've no idea where i heard this, or if it's true. i am just talking, because i like the sound of my own voice - and instead of being like RP and making random dead person jokes, or UFC related propaganda, i'll just say things like this.

Skippord 07-20-2006 01:17 PM

Yeah I read that too

RVD's just a stoner.

And Eddie found God. You can do anything if you're Christian--Even be totally UnChristian.

Arnold HamNegger 07-20-2006 07:56 PM

They really should play this into a story line when he comes back.

RVD: Dude, what the hell happened man? Last thing I remember was celebrating after winning the title at ONS. That spinner belt makes a great bong.

Heyman: Well the good news is you went on to also be crowned the ECW champion and had both belts at the same time.

RVD: Cool. What's the bad news?

Heyman: You went on a two week weed binge, defended the titles every night against my judgment and eventually lost both belts.

RVD: Whoa, that's bogus.

Heyman: You really don't remember anything?

RVD: I remember losing a coin toss to Sabu in Ohio and had to drive, but that's about it. I think I even drove the wrong way.

Heyman: Well....in that case.....you're gonna be pissed at Vince, because he interferred in your match with Show and cost you the ECW title.

RVD: Man, how high do I have to get to break through Vince's glass ceiling? WHOA....wait a minute....................ECW is back?

Rob 07-20-2006 08:04 PM

He is coming back to get the biggest push of his career.

Don't know know how WWE punishments work by now?

ClockShot 07-20-2006 08:12 PM

Yeah don't worry. He'll be flying high again in no time. (No pun intended)

Fox 07-20-2006 08:33 PM

The reports about RVD's big push on his return are true.

What hasn't been reported is that Vince McMahon wasn't so upset that RVD was arrested for breaking the law, but more so because half of that shit was his.

Arnold HamNegger 07-21-2006 02:19 PM

The Whole F'N Toke!

Rammsteinmad 07-21-2006 04:05 PM

Who cares what he's done wrong? If it means an RVD push I'm all for it. :y:

Arnold HamNegger 07-21-2006 04:54 PM

I bought the ONS DVD yesterday and I wanted to vomit all over myself for how the Cena match was booked. You have to be absolutely brass knuckled fist fucking me with the move set they limited RVD to IN HIS OWN ECW ENVIRONMENT no less. I know we've all bitched about this til we're blue in the face, but just hearing about it didn't paint the true travesty that I witnessed with my own eyes. What they did to him is a crime, I don't care if he won the belt or not. RVD looked like a total bitch. You'd think that after doing his "One of a Kind" DVD and viewing all of his ECW footage, WWE would realize what a goldmine they had and turn him loose. Christ, even for just one night. :nono:

WHY CAN'T CENA LOSE CLEAN?!?! He has to have pictures of Vince fucking a donkey or something. When was the last time he lost a match 1-2-3 with no interference?

I never thought I'd say this, but R-V-D needs to be T-N-A. He'd blow the roof off their PPV's. Take Fonzie with him. :y:

I love that match. The crowd reactions and response to Cena made the night after a pretty average PPV. Yeh, Cena was pulling off all the typical Cena moves but what else could they do?

Make him wrestle?

Make him hardcore for the night?

No, because then he'd lose all his heat and probably even gain a little bit of respect from the crowd. Cena stayed in Cena character because it pissed off the crowd and that made for great television. Yes, its unfortunate that there was a five-knuckle-shuffle in an ECW arena but that's all part of the show.

And as for being beaten the way he was. Well, that's just WWE booking. You really weren't expecting Cena to lose cleanly (or even lose at all) were you?

I think the last time Cena lost clean was at New Years Revolution

The crowd was amazing, no doubt. They made the match and the PPV (other than the Foley match). The problem I had was that the fans never really had anything to cheer for once the bell rang. Cena dominated. I wasn't expecting him to lose clean, but at least let RVD hit some hardcore moves. I totally would have been satisfied if he'd have hit a Van Terminator to end the match after Edge's run in. Hell, even have Edge hold the chair. There was nothing about RVD's performance that said E-C-W.

Would there really have been anything wrong with having Cena expand his move set to unvail a more hardcore side to him...which is what his persona is SUPPOSED to be? Have RVD put on an amazing show and just barely get the better of him. Cena would have gained some respect without losing any face and RVD would have been a legitimate champ in the eyes of even the most jaded Vermaat/WWE/Cena fan. The reasoning I see for WWE booking the match the way it did, is that if Cena and RVD would have tore the house down with a 5 star hardcore match, they would never have been able to go back to the WWE watered down version that we see every week. It would be UNACCEPTABLE.

I wouldn't even count that. Last time he lost clean was when he had the US title, I believe.

And even then, it was only after beating five other guys in an Elimination Chamber.

He lost the belt to Carlito, but was it clean? Why doesn't Carlito ever mention that he beat Cena?

Continuity, you are a dirty whore.

Carlito cheated he hit him with a foreign object or the belt.

St. Jimmy 07-21-2006 10:50 PM

lol. I liked the whole "night club stabbing" angle.

Savio 07-21-2006 11:15 PM

Cena said he got stabbed to help his street cred
--------------
Cena: How can I get some real cred?

50 cent: Get fucked up

Savio 07-21-2006 11:16 PM

Last time cena lost clean was in his debut match with angle.
