YOUR Hero 07-20-2006 10:35 PM

Popular movies you didn't see until way later.

I'm sure there are tons, but the one I recently watched that was a big hit was Napolean Dynamite. I'm sorry but if someone doesn't find that funny, then they've completely missed it. I know the show has gotten great reviews and it becomes 'popular' after awhile to bash it. Yeah, well fuck you, it's the goods.

Blitz 07-20-2006 10:52 PM

Star Wars Trilogy

Gimme a break, I was still 2 years away from conception when Jedi came out.

PapaGeorgio 07-20-2006 11:27 PM

Pirates of the Caribbean. Didn't see it until the sequel came out. Owned it on DVD for awhile to, just never got around to it.

Requiem 07-21-2006 12:03 AM

I hated Napolean Dynamite from the time it came out. I saw it drunk and sober, and hated it both times. I'm a bit fan of comedy, but I thought it was trying too hard to be funny, and they knew it. So yeah, I thought it was pretty stupid.

Kris P Lettus 07-21-2006 12:19 AM

I still haven't seen: The Ring, Titanic, The Sixth Sense..

I'll add more as I think of them..

mitchables 07-21-2006 02:41 AM

Yeah I saw Napoleon Dynamite after I heard about it on here, but I think the overly massive hype it got here kinda ruined it for me. I couldn't stand it. I found the characters hard to like and the movie harder to watch. It was just hugely boring. :-\

That is how I feel. I saw it right when it was first released and loved it. Then I had to hear quotes from it everywhere and it ruined it for me more and more. Same with Family Guy. Still enjoy the movie and show but not as much as I used to.

Downunder 07-21-2006 04:05 AM

E.T I didn't see it until 15 years after it was released.

Boondock Saint 07-21-2006 04:15 AM

On The Waterfront.

Skippord 07-21-2006 04:44 AM

I saw Napolean Dynamite and I wanted to kill everyone I was with for making me watch it.

ClockShot 07-21-2006 09:07 AM

The Usual Suspects

Shaggy 07-21-2006 11:59 AM

The Matrix...I didnt see that till after it had its run on HBO

Napolean Dynamite was one of those that I wanted to see in theaters but waited...then when it came on DVD I waiting for my friend to buy it and then I borrowed it from him....Hated the movie...didnt laugh...and I will never watch that crap again

Stickman 07-21-2006 12:34 PM

I too was late watching Napolean Dynamite and I must say it was an extremly dull and boring movie.

Just yesterday I watched Harold and Kumar go to White Castle for the first time. Awesome moive.

I was late seeing the Matrix and honestly, terrible movie.

I just watched Pirates of the caribean last week for the first time and it was good but overrated.

There's a lot more that I can't think of right now.

KillerWolf 07-21-2006 10:55 PM

I saw The Matrix a couple years after it came out. I have never seen E.T. Didn't see Dumb and Dumber for a couple of years after it came out.

samichna 07-23-2006 11:29 AM

Never seen the Matrix.

Shaved Monkey 07-23-2006 11:39 AM

Just saw the usual suspects last week for the first time.

Awesome flick.

The Greater Power 07-23-2006 12:00 PM

Fight Club

Didn't see that until a few months ago.

Penner 07-23-2006 01:08 PM

I liked Napolean before all the people at my school saw it when it came out on DVD. Then it became mad annoying. Still good once in awhile though.

It's hard to remember these movies...

- Return Of The King
- Snatch
- Spaceballs

:y: Fight Club was great. One of those movies you really gotta run through one or two more times to really figure it out.

ct2k 07-23-2006 03:47 PM

I've not seen Usual Suspects, and tbh i doubt i'll go out of my way too after my friend revealed the ending plot twist and some fuckin stupid 'best movies ever' show actually showed it

MVP 07-23-2006 07:02 PM

I thought Napolean Dynamite was hilarious the first time I watched it, cause no one else had heard of it so the fad hadn't caught on yet. But once everyone started wearing Vote for Pedro shirts and quoted it every 5 minutes, it was dead to me.

Also Scarface I never saw til like 2 years ago.

that's bullshit. Keaneau Reeves or no, the first Matrix is a great movie and should at least be seen.

Kane Knight 07-23-2006 10:11 PM

The Crow: I read the original comic/graphic novel/whatever, and figured they'd fuck it up. They did, but I ended up enjoying it.

Harry Potter and wahtever the first three movies were called. I saw the fourth one to get pussy. And no, not in a Superslim fashion.

The Matrix: I only saw it because one of my professors raved about it. I figured why not.

Pirates of the Carribean: I ignored it because basing a movie on a theme ride seemed ridiculously gay.

There are a ton...

See it. The whole thing is awesome.

El Capitano Gatisto 07-24-2006 07:08 PM

I have never seen One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest but I hope to soon. I've never watched Apocalypse Now all the way through either.

Blitz 07-24-2006 07:22 PM

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's nest was a disappointment for me.

FakeLaser 07-24-2006 07:46 PM

I thought One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was excellent.

Blitz 07-24-2006 07:57 PM

I didn't like the 2 lead performances. Nicholson's McMurphy was not at all was I envisioned him as from reading the book.

AS for Nurse Ratched, how Louise Fletcher winning an Oscar off that performance is a mysterey to me.

FakeLaser 07-25-2006 02:45 AM

I read the book way after I saw the movie, that could be why.

ct2k 07-25-2006 10:47 AM

Saw Ghost World last night, fuckin quality, Thora Birch's breasts are brilliant:y:

Blitz 07-25-2006 11:31 AM

Ghost World is overrated as well.

Scarlett>Thora

Adder 07-25-2006 05:58 PM

The first Matrix is really good. People that haven't seen it, I think should.

Anchorman comes to mind as a movie some co-workers said was really funny. I've even borrowed the DVD a couple times from one of them, but never end up watching it.

weather vane 07-25-2006 08:02 PM

I havn't seen SO many popular movies.

New Star Wars Movies
Matrix
Lord of The Rings
Harry Potter
Spiderman
X Men

ummm there is a lot more but I dunno

Just saw Pirates the other day ... was awesome

LoDownM 07-25-2006 11:41 PM

The Godfather :o Everyone was telling me how good it was, but never watched it.
