Niiice.

Unfortunately, I see this ranking right up with The Hulk and Daredevil.

ct2k 07-25-2006 11:11 AM

It can't be as bad as Daredevil

Rammsteinmad 07-25-2006 12:44 PM

I liked Daredevil. :(

Anyhow, this looks a bit hit-or-miss for me. I've never really been too big on Iron Man, although it is a comic one, so I will see it in the cinema, and even if it sucks, I'll still get the DVD.

ClockShot 07-25-2006 05:48 PM

I too liked Daredevil. I just wanna know who's playing Tony Stark.

Skippord 07-25-2006 07:02 PM

I also liked Daredevil

John la Rock 07-25-2006 08:07 PM

Daredevil sucked :p

mitchables 07-25-2006 08:25 PM

I have high hopes for this movie. I have faith that it will not be the wrecks that Hulk and Daredevil were. :'(

Fignuts 07-25-2006 08:55 PM

HOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHITHOLYSHIT

Funky Fly 07-25-2006 08:58 PM

I dunno. Iron Man is way up there in the strength department. The movie may end up being a 2 hour summer squash match between Iron Man and the villain du jour.

mitchables 07-25-2006 09:14 PM

Yeah, but he has crippling psychological issues and a severe problem with alcoholism, which makes it fun to watch. Internal conflict. You know.

John la Rock 07-25-2006 09:52 PM

the poster looks like it's a cartoon lol

Plus, he often has to save the day from disasters and the like.

He gets into Superman situations without being totally invincible.

Funky Fly 07-26-2006 03:58 PM

Don't get me wrong, I love Iron Man. I'm just worried about the comic to movie translation not happening here. We all saw The Hulk.

Kane Knight 07-26-2006 04:07 PM

Yeah, I don't even know how the Hulk happened. It's like they watched Catwoman or something.

The Destroyer 07-26-2006 06:04 PM

According to Marvel.com it's going to be more of an origin story, and won't really put much emphasis on Stark's personal problems. And the villain is going to be The Mandarin. Who I've always thought was rather shitty. Like most Iron Man villains. :(

loopydate 07-26-2006 08:16 PM

^ That's my biggest concern with an Iron Man movie. IM never had the best villains. Mandarin is okay, but he's nothing compared to - say, the Green Goblin or Magneto or Doctor Doom. Hell, at least Captain America had Red Skull and the Nazis. Once you get past the Spider-Man, X-Men, and Fantastic Four villains, the villains for the other heroes are pretty weak.

Hulk's the same way, and I think that's part of why that movie failed. It was Hulk versus...his dad? And it's not like they could have had him fight the Abomination or Wendigo or the Wrecking Crew (although they sort of turned his dad into Crusher Kreel), because nobody knows who they are.

I like Jon Favreau, so I have some faith that he can turn this into something good. It's just a pity that he doesn't have an iconic villain to go with a pretty damn cool poster.

Mandarin is an underrated villain. Amd Titanium man is pretty badass too.

Kane Knight 08-21-2006 06:02 PM

So is this the animated movie hyped on the Ultimate Avengers sequel?

Impeccable 08-22-2006 06:01 AM

I'm a HUGE fan of Marvel...huge...and I can't wait for this movie, especially having watched the two recent avengers animated movies, which rekindled my love for Iron man...but more so Thor...

...I WANT A THOR MOVIE!

Petethegeekstreet 08-22-2006 10:21 AM

Thor is coming... down the line.

Which probably will never get explored in a summer blockbuster picture.

I would've casted John Stamos. He is Tony Stark to me. His ex shouldn't get all the superhero action.

Sorry, when I think of Tony Stark, I do not think of Uncle Jesse.

Kalyx triaD 09-30-2006 12:06 PM

It can't be no worse than Ben/Daredevil.

Boondock Saint 09-30-2006 12:58 PM

Well he has the personal demons part down.

Blitz 09-30-2006 02:32 PM

Yeah, I like that casting.

mitchables 09-30-2006 11:59 PM

Just read about the Robert Downey Jr. thing on marvel.com, and I am fucking stoked. He will be brilliant.
