Hacking the Xbox360 Drive
 

Has anyone done this?

I have the Hitachi drive with v46 firmware, Just cracked the box open. Can get the drive detected in the BIOS, but cant get it into ModeB at the moment so I can see it in windows, the slax boot cd I'm using doesn't support my SATA Controller. Gonna take the Box into work tomorrow and try it on a PC with an Intel SATA Controller/chipset. Should do the trick

Not with the hitachi, but my Samsung drive was a bit of a bitch. Far too much hex editing

Yeah, this is an ass process. Got the drive flashed finally, but cant burn the games for shit.

Own backups or downloads? Copying them is a pain in the ass and the d/s are 8gb so that method requires patience or as uper fast connection

I think I need to try a different media. I'm using Imation DVD+R DL's at the moment, and not get any good results.
