A really odd question...

If you had the complete collection of only one wrestling title belt; all matches, promos, and segments that revolve around any one championship, what championship would you choose?

For me I would have to say it would be either the NWA Television or the WWE Intercontinental....some of the 80's best writing was over the TV title, and most of the 90s best match had the IC Title in it.

Jaton 08-01-2006 12:19 AM

The Tony Marina World Heavyweight title. :shifty:

Seriously though, I'd agree with the WWE IC, or maybe the WCW US title.

The One 08-01-2006 12:21 AM

I never thought the United States title had those "Oh my god! I could watch that 100 more times!" type feel to them.

Jaton 08-01-2006 12:27 AM

Ric Flair made it worth watching.

The One 08-01-2006 12:30 AM

Well if your doing it for incredible Flair, why not just go with the NWA World Title? Not only Flair, but Race, Steamboat, Funk Jr, Windham, Terry Funk, Rhodes, and even a few note worthy stuff from TNA (Raven...).

Jaton 08-01-2006 12:33 AM

Raven! I'm a super Raven mark.

Jaton 08-01-2006 12:33 AM

Who also held the US title. As did Sting.

The One 08-01-2006 12:34 AM

NWA Title gets ya classic surfer Sting.

Jaton 08-01-2006 12:37 AM

I'm not a surfer Sting mark, fool. Crow > surfer

In fact..

Wasn't Harley Race the first US champion? Funk held it, Rhodes held it.

The One 08-01-2006 12:40 AM

OK, are you going to say the matches Race, Rhodes, and Funk had for the WCW United States Title were even in the same league as the ones for the NWA World Heavyweight Title?

Jaton 08-01-2006 12:42 AM

No. Just making a statement.

The One 08-01-2006 12:45 AM

Good, I was worried for a second.

Yeah the IC title.

Because while Vince always likes his big men up the top its usaully left to the more talented wrestlers to fight over the IC title . For example Jericho, Savage, Christian, Shelton and Benoit fought have been in the IC division for the majority of time in the wwe. And even wrestlers like Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, HHH, Rocky and Edge have been in the ic division for long peroids of time.

St. Jimmy 08-01-2006 02:36 PM

ECW TV Title. Those were some fucking hot matches.

Team Sheep 08-01-2006 03:29 PM

WWF/WWE title.

Skippord 08-01-2006 03:34 PM

WWE Title

Destor 08-01-2006 05:53 PM

NWA Heavyweight title. It has the longest lineage thus the most hours of entertainment.

Hanso Amore 08-01-2006 07:34 PM

NWA/WCW TV Title.

Tully, Nikita, Terry taylor, martel, benoit, booker, Arn, Steamboat, Regal, Austin, Muta, Sting

ALL of them had amazing matches for this title, and some great storys.

Side note, Tully is headlining a show in Norfolk this week (he looks like shit) and they are billing him as "Old School 80's" TV Champion and he is defending it, managed by JJ Dillion (he looks older than dillon)....

Koko B Ware will be performing too

Thriller 08-01-2006 08:27 PM

I would actually have to go with The WWF/WWE TAG BELTS CAUSE BACK IN THE 80s tag team were awesome.

zdmay 08-01-2006 09:02 PM

WWF Title, starting in the Attitude Era: From when Austin first won the title to the WWE Title when Brock Lesnar beat The Rock.

98-02, when the WWF/E was at it's best.
