Just watched the "Marine" trailer...

... and you know what? It didn't suck.

The guy from T2 made a pretty decent bad guy. I'll probably go to either a matinee or wait for it to come to the dollar theatre.

St. Jimmy 08-04-2006 12:09 AM

HOO-RAH!

Little Kid:
Skippord:
Kane Knight:   :naughty:

loopydate 08-04-2006 12:21 AM

They have a poster up at the theater here. When I first saw it, I thought "Oh, they've already got a poster out for the third Bourne movie?" Then I got closer and realized... Oh. This one won't be good.

We disagree, good sir.

Schoenauer 08-04-2006 12:36 AM

Well, let me tell you what I think about this one. Oooh boy, I HATE this movie so far. It makes me want to kill myself.

Fox 08-04-2006 12:48 AM

Save a bullet for me, eh?

Savio 08-04-2006 12:54 AM

I don't know what to think of this movie.

Rammsteinmad 08-04-2006 01:01 AM

This film actually looks pretty decent... except that it looks like one of those films where the hero survives the most ridiculous things...

Skippord 08-04-2006 01:15 AM

Just like John Cena's title runs

Corkscrewed 08-04-2006 01:21 AM

ROFLMAO

John Cena > Steven Seagal

Definitely looks like a stupid, mindless summer flick. Prolly won't see it, but it could have been a lot worse. The unintentional comedy will be off the charts.

The One 08-04-2006 02:01 AM

That looked like one of the worst things ever...and that's not just talking about movies.

Vastardikai 08-04-2006 02:14 AM

Well, "See No Evil" was the funniest movie I ever saw.

Cuzziebro 08-04-2006 02:19 AM

My oppinion of this movie at this point is neutral. I laughed at Cena chokeslamming some bad guy though.

What Would Kevin Do? 08-04-2006 02:36 AM

Hey, it has Kimber from Nip/Tuck in it too.

Cooler Tom Schuler 08-04-2006 02:43 AM

"What happened?"
"A marine showed up, that's what."

You know, if the collective ego's of the drunk marines I serve at work every night weren't enough already...

Shadow 08-04-2006 02:52 AM

Won't load for me.

Boondock Saint 08-04-2006 03:03 AM

Will prolly blow ass but could be fun too. Dunno if I'll bother with it in the theater though.

Ben Rodrigues 08-04-2006 08:40 AM

..That looked like rubbish. Reminds me of Collateral Damage.

I don't know why they'd be proud of that line, it's used by the Army and Air Force when something's been horribly fucked up.

Anyway, anyone seen the Big Hit? It looks kinda like that, except unintentionally so.

Da Cool Guy 08-04-2006 01:39 PM

OMG! I cant wait for this! i Bet hell be a better acter then The Crock! If John needed to leve the WWE ID WAnt him to do this.

OverTaker 08-04-2006 02:00 PM

Don't get too anxious, you might hurt yourself.

OverTaker 08-04-2006 02:01 PM

Oh and by the way, S T F U

I loved the Big Hit.

Somehow I don't think I'll feel the same about this one.

Chavo Classic 08-04-2006 02:55 PM

I'll be <s> going to cinema </s> downloading illegally as soon as this comes out.

I doubt it'll be anywhere near that quality, it's just that the movie was hilarious, and many of the things in that ad that looked hilarious were done in similar fashion--Except probably not intentionally.

TBH was fucking hilarious. I'd laugh my ass off if the whole movie used elements reminiscent.

Blitz 08-04-2006 03:43 PM

Yeah, the Big Hit was clearly not serious in the way it presented the action.

The Marine, though, looks deadly serious about it.

Rammsteinmad 08-04-2006 03:53 PM

Was that suppose to be Cena doing that spinning kick?

Which is gonna make it hilarious, but not worth the 10 bucks.

Xero 08-04-2006 04:58 PM

I can't take Cena seriously in that movie. He looks goofy.

Chavo Classic 08-04-2006 05:14 PM

...just in the movie?

*cheap heat*

I know it sounds impossible, but he looks even more out of place in the movie.

Chavo Classic 08-04-2006 05:24 PM

Babyface Cena, definately not. But Heel Cena from 2003 would prosper as the wise-cracking bad guy in any B movie.

Vermaat 08-04-2006 06:46 PM

This movie looks awesome but I'm gonna be unbiased and say that it could have been better. However, keep in mind that Cena is wrestling and was filming this movie at the same time, it's pretty damn hectic to do both and I think he looks good and the movie looks like a lot of fun. John Cena has shown that he can act well with all his charisma and I definetely await watching him act in a movie.

Actually he took about a month off to film (I suppose the bulk of) it in late 2005.

The Naitch 08-04-2006 06:59 PM

I bet he'll pull a 5 knuckle shuffle somewhere. Or an FU type move

Just like The Rock. Rock always does a nip up in his fight sequences just for the wrestling fans

Hell he did a Rock Bottom in one of his movies. I just saw DOOM last night (because I am the biggest Rock mark out there) and yes, I witnessed the nip up in his fight scene with Karl Urban

I expect Cena to pull off the same type of shit

alvarado52 08-04-2006 07:00 PM

the action is WAY to over the top. I can deal with over the top if its an asian dude in a John Woo film, but not this. The only thing that would make me go to this is if the T2 guy said 'Have you seen this boy?'.

Kane Knight 08-04-2006 07:38 PM

This movie is MAKE IT or BREAK IT for John Cena.

That's nothing.

Vermaat 08-04-2006 07:51 PM

lol when u act in a movie its not just when the cameras are rolling, its also getting ready for it, u need a lot of mental preparation and focus and it is hard to do that when you are busy wrestling and giving it your all. Running into a studio and filming for a month is not the same as being a pure actor who gets time to prepare.
