Do wrestlers get paid per show?
Or per hour?
Never forget my name as.........SILVERDUST! |
I bet it's not per hour.
|
Indy wrestlers are paid per show. WWE stars are paid annually or certain intervals.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Xero Limit 126 again.

Wrestlers are paid based on their contract. For some, it means "per show." For some, it means a lump sum anually. For some, it means a certain number of weeks, however often they're used.

I think they have an annual sum but its probably doled out on a monthly basis. Its fucking hard to stretch cash out that long...

Well, here's the last (and only according to the search) thread of wrestler salaries. You guys can do the math.

I figure that most wrestlers would wrestle or at least be used in some way about 150 times a year. By using that, I figured that Triple H makes about $13,420 per show.
lol |
Wrestlers are paid a downside salary which they receive on a monthly basis, and additional royalties from PPVs, DVDs, merchandise sales and house shows, based on their prominance in said features, which I would assume they receive every 3 to 6 months.

Triple H doesn't even do house shows, anymore, does he?
Wouldn't that top his appearances at like, 50 a year (Assuming PPVs are included, but not every week features a new Raw (Sometimes they are pre-empted, there are best ofs...) |

Well, in Triple H's case you're probably right. The likes of he, HBK and Undertaker all take at least one sabbatical per year too.
But the younger guys, who actually work for a living, they are probably closer to 250 shows per year. |

Going from 8/8 to 9/8, I only count 8 shows for SmackDown! and 10 shows for RAW in a month. Even adding 5 more to the 10 only brings it up to about 180. I can't see them doing anymore than 200 in a busy year, and that would count doing more than one brand rarely. http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=19600&p=1 |
The schedule is a lot less brutal now than back in the day.
However, even when there are no live shows/house shows a lot of the wrestlers make promotional appearances/autograph signings etc. which, unless they organised it personally for themselves, they probably don't get any extra payment for. |
