Fell in Love with a Girl/Boy
 

You know that song by the white Stripes? The one that kinda got them recognised? Fell in Love with a Girl?

Well, there is this girl named Joss Stone who does another version of it with the Roots called "Fell in Love with a Boy".

Normally, I'd just think it was a cover of the White Stripes, but the thing is that Joss' version is twice as long as the White Stripes' one. So the question is this: did the White Stripes write this song? If not, who wrote and who performed it?

Nope, White Stripes original... it's surprisingly easy to pad out covers anyway. I've heard a cover of Led Zeppelin's Dazed and Confused that tacks on almost an extra 4 minutes. Although Led Zep themselves could supposedly make the song go on far longer. :o

Yeah, I checked the album it's on on allmusic.com, and the writing credit is "White" i.e. Jack White.

Well, that's interesting. It's a pretty damn good cover, IMO.

But then I cream myself anytime I see the Roots on TV.

She covered the song, she's got a good voice but she seems too bland

Not to mention her album is full of covers

There's hardly many second hand songs worth bothering with

I heard a clip of the song, and it seems slowed down. Probably explains the extra length.
