Yeah they are awesome, but The Mars Volta is better so WHATEVER

Invalid Litter Dept. is still one of my all-time favourite songs.

I flip flop on which one I like better all the time....they're such different bands.


I'm sure we can all agree that The Mars Volta was the better of the two bands that came out of ATDI (Sparta....meh)

Sparta doesn't get anywhere near enough credit. No, they are not the head trip that the Volta are, but they are a very solid band in their own right. Wiretap Scars was fantastic.

I like them.

Also, really looking forward to Sparta's new album, Threes, especially since they've recruited the singer from Engine Down on guitar and backup vocals. Jim + Engine Down guy = ratings. Also, it will essentially mean that Threes is gonna be super-ep. Hell yeah. :love:

Both Sparta and ATDI were/are better than Mars Volta, IMHO.

Sparta are pretty mediocre. I enjoyed Porcelain sort of.

TMV are one of the best bands of our generation.

The Volta are great, no question, but Frances the Mute had way too much ambience shit. I didn't buy the CD to hear a bird chirping over random door slams and waterfalls for four and a half minutes.

Makes for good pot smoking music tho :y:

Yeah definitely in my top 5 of bands to listen to while stoned.

I only really liked the first Mars Volta album, I didn't care much for the Frances the Mute album, but I haven't heard the new one so I'll wait and see.

I really enjoyed Sparta's first two albums though.
