He returns sans lampshade... TONIGHT!

Summerslam apparently sucked last night, and from the results, I'm really not hyped about anything that happened, which in turn leads me to be extremely apathetic about tonight's RAW. Except for one thing.

Jeff Hardy set to return to RAW
By Steven Schiff
August 17, 2006

Jeff Hardy will be making his long-awaited return to the ring this week on Monday Night RAW. Three years after being released from WWE as the result of a suspected drug addiction, Hardy is sure to bring the high-wire act that made him a crowd favorite back to the confines of (and the general area above, around and beyond) the squared circle.

As reported on WWE.com earlier this month, Hardy is now fully rehabilitated and fit to return, ready to make sure that his glory days in WWE have not passed him by. Whether he will be wrestling alone or eventually teaming back up with his brother is yet unknown. Regardless, Hardy insists that the best is yet to come.

“I’m ready to jump off bigger ladders and go through thicker tables,” he said. “I just gotta let it fly.”

Don’t miss Jeff Hardy’s high-flying return as he comes back to RAW one night after SummerSlam, live on USA at 9/8 CT.

I don't know why, but I'm really excited to see what happens with his return tonight, and it's the only factor pushing me to tune in.

Back me up here, Shadow.

Blitz 08-21-2006 04:46 PM

I just hope he gets booed out of the building and botches at least one spot.

mrslackalack 08-21-2006 04:47 PM

He will prolly job to Umaga in less than a minute.

Mr. JL 08-21-2006 04:48 PM

He'll return for a month, jump off a ladder and then become addicted to pain killers once again.

Mr. JL 08-21-2006 04:49 PM

This return will last as long as Scott Hall's in 2002.

Chavo Classic 08-21-2006 04:54 PM

I want the lampshade!

Dorkchop 08-21-2006 05:16 PM

Matt Hardy will job to him.

KingofOldSchool 08-21-2006 05:18 PM

Who does the job tonight?

I call Shelton Benjamin.

As a matter of fact, Matt is now a Japanese Sushi chef who grew up in Ireland.

That article right there clearly states that they are brothers. Give them SOME credit.

UmbrellaCorporation 08-21-2006 05:26 PM

He'll no show. I'm calling it now. :shifty:

Mr. Nerfect 08-21-2006 05:27 PM

I think we'll see Jeff Hardy pin Matt Striker. Why the fuck isn't Hardy on SmackDown!? I asked that same question about Shannon Moore. SmackDown! needs cruiserweights. Jeff is a cruiserweight. Simple logic. Ah, I see. Expecting the WWE to use logic, that's where I went wrong.

This is probably just a money grabbing tactic by the WWE, but it is still stupid. Jeff Hardy getting a bigger push than Matt is a crime.

Gerard 08-21-2006 05:29 PM

Long awaited return? ....yeah.... :shifty:

It's a well known fact that WWE.com doesn't get the current WWE product. They continuously make mistakes, like revealing spoilers for the next PPV (and I'm not talking about upcoming house shows), going too far out of kayfabe, etc.

Didn't that already happen in TNA in 2005?

That would be Botchfest 2005.

This is a new year, duh.

if he gets booed i will laugh my ass off

Splaya 08-21-2006 07:47 PM

It's gonna be tough to see where the crowd will be. He might get a Cena pop where the 13 year old girls will scream their asses off and the guys will boo him, or he might get a full fledged pop. Time will tell though

Splaya 08-21-2006 07:53 PM

The only thing is, I wish they hadn't hyped his return. I wish it would have just been Striker in the ring and they were like...

Lillian: And his opponent....

*Hardy's theme hits*

Crowd would have ate it up

Xero 08-21-2006 07:55 PM

JR: We're sorry to announce that just moments ago Jeff Hardy was arrested for possession of drugs. Jeff has been fired and we refuse to wish him the best of luck. One time too many, druggie!

Skippord 08-21-2006 07:58 PM

I'd like to see him get a title shot against Edge in a TLC match

loopydate 08-21-2006 07:59 PM

I don't know whether I'm going to watch tonight (it's my last night in town before I move), but I'm curious about the Hardy situation.

I'd tape it, then watch it in the morning, but I think we all know I'd never actually watch it.

I suppose I could beg Savior to upload RAW like the good ol' days...

FourFifty 08-21-2006 08:15 PM

Oh lamp shade, we shall miss you :wavesad:

Don't fret, I'm sure he's bringing either the Magic Markers or the alien cum.

Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Conway I'm guessing

Come the fuck on. They're not going to deny that the Hardyz are brothers.

Didn't Kane have some sort of disfigurement which has been well documented, even on WWE TV by reactions? Or how about Viscera? Wasn't he sacrificed to The Undertaker? Shouldn't he be this big-ass zombie still?

The WWE isn't exactly up on their consistency, even on the obvious shit.

Shadow 08-22-2006 12:25 AM

Nice to see the Hardy love.

Actually...he didn't do half bad tonight. Alot better then even I would've given him. Not a botched spot done from Jeff at all. I was quite impressed.

NOW PUT HIM ON SMACKDOWN!

Xero 08-22-2006 12:27 AM

You know what would have been awesome? If instead of Jeff Hardy, Christian came out and beat the shit out of Edge, beat him for the title and go on to make a "Champion Charisma" belt.

Yeah, that would have been awesome.

That's would have been the shit. Although I was impressed with Jeff. You can tell I've been watching way too much WWE cause I was actually suprised to the point that I marked out when I looked at the TV and said "HOLY SHIT, WAS THAT A DDT?!", then edge did the Inverted Drop DDT and I was shocked... How sad is that?

Spoilers for the people that haven't seen Raw yet, highlight to read.

No lamp shade...

My point was that the WWE is completely capable of doing something like that.

Anybody Thrilla 08-24-2006 03:54 AM

And my point was that with this particular incident, they would not.

Xero 08-24-2006 12:31 PM

But they COULD, and WOULD if it meant repackaging one of them.

Of course, they've been stuck in the same gimmick since 1997, so I don't see it changing...
