Diesel, was he really the worst drawing champion of all time?

When Diesel was the champ for almost a year, I was just a kid. I loved him, I thought he was the shit. Now, what I don't understand is, is he really the reason for buisness being bad back then? Or was buisness already bad and they put the title on him and he took the blame? Because from what I remember at that time he was really fun to watch.

The business was down had some to do with it. But likely because of the big slow main events with guys like Bam Bam, Mabel, and Sid. He had some good matches with Bret and HBK though.

I was a Diesel fan as well.

The man put 29,000 people in the Garden. Who else has done that?

hb2k 08-23-2006 04:35 PM

Business was already bad, but Diesel as champ tanked it. Numbers rose when he lost it to Bret.

Does the Garden even hold 29,000 people?

It did that night.

Greatest response in the history of the world

Which is saying a lot.

Bret said on his DVD he felt he should have been given the belt earlier in 95 to help the business boost in numbers.

You can't really lay the drawing power on any one man usually. Cena isn't the main reason (only one of the many reasons) that business is down just like Hart wasn't the main reasons why business went up.

When Hogan and even Austin were champions and on top, they had MUCH more pull for drawing that really anyone else, but still were not the ONLY reason why it was so popular.
