A Kurt Angle DVD - What matches?
 

We NEED a Kurt Angle DVD with all his greatest matches.

The question is, what matches would you pick?

Some that come to mind straight away from me are:

vs. Chris Benoit (Judgment Day 2001)
vs. Shane McMahon (King of the Ring 2001)
vs. Stone Cold (Summerslam 2001)
vs. Chris Benoit (Royal Rumble 2003)
vs. Brock Lesnar (Wrestlemania 19)
vs. Shawn Michaels (Wrestlemania 22)

I know there's so many I'm missing and can't think of, those were off the top of my head. Give your suggestions.

Vs The Rock (No mercy 2000- Got to have this as it was his first WWE title)

Can't think of anymore to add at the moment, which is annoying cause I know there's more.

Angle/Benoit vs. Edge/Mysterio (No Mercy 2002)
vs. Guerrero (Wrestlemania XX)

Just to name more and yeah I know their are still a ton more.

Benoit - Angle from WM X-Seven

Or Angle/Undertaker from this year was off the fucking charts

vs. Tazz at Royal Rumble 2000, just because it broke his streak.

Some of his matches with Big Show should deffinatly be there.

Angle/Cena from No Mercy 2003.
Also, I have no exact dates, but I know their was a bunch of good Smackdown matches on free tv, from the Smackdown Six era. Angle vs. Edge, Angle vs. Benoit vs. Mysterio, and Angle/Benoit vs. Mysterio/Edge for the Tag Team titles, in a two out of three falls match were all great, and I am sure their are others I am missing.

Really, there are so many great Angle matches it could EASILY fill three disks of matches alone.

Throw in his Gold Medal win as well.

Angle/Jericho/Benoit WM 2000

A Angle 2 Disc was supposed to come out in the Summer of 03 but it got canned.

Every single title win of Kurt Angle should be on there. That includes his Hardcore Title win. To make the disk special, have all the matches he has wrestled in OVW on there, too. He's had some pretty spiffy ones down there.

You cannot miss the SmackDown! Six era. Going along the 1999, 2000 and 2001 periods should be pretty easy to pick out the great matches from the good ones, but 2002 becomes much harder. Almost every week there was awesome stuff on television. It just becomes a matter of sorting through it all, and including as much greatness as you can.

I think they should also have some kind of biography done on his career, as well. Sort of like "Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story", but including more of his matches. Have it start with his debut, and just follow his career, through. It would never be dull, as there are plenty of Kurt Angle comedy moments to put in there. Plus there was his feud with Triple H over Stephanie McMahon, there was the whole Alliance fiasco, and you can get Paul Heyman on the DVD when it comes to the "Team Angle" years. It would be brilliant stuff. Intergrade matches into the biography, and you have yourself a special which could air on PPV.

So yeah, there should definately be two Kurt Angle DVDs done. One of his career in general, with comments from Edge, Paul Heyman, Stone Cold Steve Austin, etc. Basically all Kurt Angle's great out-of-ring moments, with the occasional match thrown in. Then an anthology set which features all his near-perfect matches, and some of his unseen ones. Both would be worthy of a purchase, and both would do well, in my opinion.

Gotta' have at least two from the Smackdown Six era. I haven't seen better wrestling in the WWE in the past 6 years.

ARMAGEDDON HELL IN A CELL. I still ahve yet to see that match. Stupid not being able to order PPV

You should also include the Submission Match with Benoit from Backlash 2001 and King of the Ring 2000 when he won King of the Ring.

This thread is just making me miss him already listening to all the great matches he had.

Noones really mentioned it, but should add Edge/Angle in that Hair Match they had and the triple threat with him, Rock, and Taker at Vengance the one year. That Triple Threat owns all other Triple Threats in my book.

Angle vs Marty Jannetty from a SD before WM21

Angle vs. Hogan was at King of the Ring 2002 and Angle vs. Big Show(might have happened more than once on PPV) was at Armageddon 2002.

The triple threat happened at Vengeance 2002 and the Hair vs. Hair happened at Judgment Day 2002.

Was thinking maybe should put that match from the September 13 2001 Smackdown where he beat Rhyno on this as well.

There should also be some highlights from his Gold Medal Challenge... Angle making Santa tap?

Angle vs Undertaker 2000...Okay, so he lost, but it was a nice build up, with him asking the Undertaker to trade his bike for a scooter...

Triple H vs Rock vs Angle (Summerslam 2000). This had the whole Angle and Steph backstage segments with the kiss.

Also, any of his segments with commissioner Foley and Edge and Christian.

As much as I like his Wrestling machine character, I loved his dorky image and anything that went with it (backstage segments, in ring promos, matches.)

Talking of his Dorky character, can anyone remember on one episode of Raw, just before Wrestlemania 2000 when Bob Backlund came back for a little bit? Bob kinda bothced the segment and Angle just looked at the camera in disbelief.

Yes, they had that as a storyline of Backlund being Angle's mentor when he became European and Intercontinental Champ. As I recall, he was also in the Royal Rumble that year.

Another forgotton classic was the # 1 contendership match a week or two before Amrageddon 2002 on Smackdown. Edge vs. Eddy vs. Benoit vs. Angle. A great match.

I wouldn't put that on there. If you remember, Angle was injured in the first few minutes and basically the next 20 minutes was Rock vs. Triple H.
There would be no point having this on a Kurt Angle DVD.

You see, I would. If the DVD is about how Angle is a warrior and never gives up and gives 110%, then they show him getting injured, and maybe skip a bit of the match until he comes back out.

It might not work as a match on the disc, but as part of a documentary, Triple H vs Kurt vs The Rock at Summerslam 2000 epitomises everything Kurt is about.

vs. Benoit at Unforgiven 2002, I think. One of my favorite matches ever.
