Matches that turned into legit fights?

do you know of any matches that turned into a real fight.?

or any matches where the guy got knocked out for real (hopefully he was to win)

:)

Xero 08-26-2006 04:34 PM

Not sure about matches that turned into shoots, but I know that Hogan won a Japanese title because he accidentally knocked out the champion and had to do something.

That big boot can be DEADLY! (Not really sure if it WAS the Big Boot, but...)

The MAC 08-26-2006 04:52 PM

well you can sort of count the blue meanie -JBL thing at ONS as well..but fuck..why did you "hoganize " this thread ?

Xero 08-26-2006 05:05 PM

He's everywhere.

starfox8500 08-26-2006 07:02 PM

lol Most memorable is Hardy vs. Edge at Summerslam

Xero 08-26-2006 07:14 PM

That wasn't a shoot.

#1-norm-fan 08-26-2006 07:40 PM

Does Regal vs. Goldberg count?

nm... if it was actually a legit fight, Goldberg would probably be dead right now.

Crippla 08-26-2006 07:52 PM

How about Jerry Saggs and Scott Hall?

Savio 08-26-2006 08:02 PM

New Jack vs C. Dundee

JH 08-26-2006 08:19 PM

as far as knocked out jerry lynn was out cold in a match with rvd
i read an interview with him where he talked about still going for almost 5 minutes of that match and not even remembering it

I also recall an incident in 2004 when Hardcore Holly took stiff legit chair shots at Rene Dupree during a match at a house show.

Rammsteinmad 08-26-2006 10:00 PM

What about the classic one from WCW where Goldberg went to Spear one of the guys in Kronic, hit the ring post and knocked himself out. There they are holding his unconscious body not knowing what to do... priceless.

St. Jimmy 08-26-2006 10:34 PM

or the time that Brock just owned Holly's neck.

mrslackalack 08-26-2006 11:17 PM

Hogan mentioned in his book that Dan Spivey vs Adrian Adonis is 86 ended up being a shoot and went all the way backstage.

mrslackalack 08-26-2006 11:18 PM

Goldberg punching out the window to go after Scott Hall in a backstage segment.

Not a fight at all, but that was seriously awesome.

FourFifty 08-27-2006 01:19 AM

Why are people talking about botches in this thead?

Impeccable 08-27-2006 03:16 AM

As far as fights, I don't know any real fights. Most wrestlers are professional enough to do a job and then take their beef backstage, hence tales of people getting stabbed, etc.

Back in the territories though, there were some REAL tough guys. I've heard that some of them would work pretty stiff until you started working stiff back...then they'd back off a bit.

The majority of guys are like that until they get to know you. It's just guys trying to prove they're a "bad ass." Nothing a stiff close-line can't settle but its common.

Brusier Brody v Luger in some cage match from Florida(its posted in the Youtube thread). Brody just completely no sells Luger and starts throwing potatoes.

That was a work. Hogan didn't legit KO Inoki, they just said he did to get Hogan over.

No, Inoki was well known for "shoot booking" or booking to make everybody think it was a shoot/real.

Fox 08-27-2006 05:13 PM

Daniel Puder owned Kurt Angle on Smackdown and Kurt got really really upset about it.

Everyone likes to give Angle shit about that but damn, its not like he was expecting it, of course Puder got the best of him.

Same thing happened with RVD vs. Orton on Raw. Orton was completely whacked after the first 2 minutes of the match. I don't recall how it happened, but his body was virtually limp and his eyes glazed over. I said in an interview that he thanked RVD for carrying the match so well, as he was totally not home.

That was awesome. Luger starts sulking and just walks out of the match.

I don't have speakers right now so what were the announcers saying?

Also, were there any post match interviews, or any interviews years later about what actually went down? I watched that clip with no sound and was like wtf

NoRoolz 08-29-2006 09:59 AM

Not between two wrestlers but the classic Eddie V RVD match when a fan runs in the ring, Eddie seems to nail him and then the ref tackles the bastard. I'm not sure if Eddies punch was a 'wrestling' punch or a genuine punch, still pretty funny.

Destor 08-29-2006 10:08 AM

It was a PO-TA-TO

I have a very grainy youtube vid. There's no commentary or interviews. It's just Brody staring at Luger and no selling his horrible punches.

Hall and Saggs

This happened back in 1997 but can anyone who knows what I'm talking about confirm whether it was a work or a shoot? I remember it back then and I heard rumors it was a shoot.

I believe it was a shoot. I remember DDT digest had a big thing disscussing it.
