Jeff Hardy - the new Ultimate Warrior.

I can just see in a few years from now a DVD coming out called The Self-Destruction of the Hardy Boyz.

Matt - self explanatory.

Jeff - just like the Warrior, being unrealiable and getting released/resigning. I doubt he'll recapture what he once used to have in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Petethegeekstreet 08-29-2006 02:16 AM

He never really had anything. People just clung to him because A) they wanted to fuck him B) they liked the way he fell off those ladders or C) they were blind marks and they did what they were told.

Blitz 08-29-2006 02:17 AM

Or all of the above :naughty:

The One 08-29-2006 02:17 AM

Jeff was NEVER on Warrior's level, and I doubt his ability to fuck over his career is comparable to Hedwig's.

But I agree, Hardy won't come close to having his chemistry he used to ooze.

I think you meant charisma not chemistry. And I thought he was oozing some sort of neon glow face paint.

darkpower 08-29-2006 04:11 AM

I personally think Jeff is somewhat better than the Warrior was. We will see, though. Jeff shined more in tag teams.

Destor 08-29-2006 04:44 AM

I just cant see how Jeff is the more successful Hardy brother. For serious.

Petethegeekstreet 08-29-2006 05:07 AM

No shit. What the fuck do people see in this guy? I know I saw some guy with a Jeff avatar, maybe he can shed some light into this markdom.

Destor 08-29-2006 05:08 AM

I can only assume you mean Shadow.

NoRoolz 08-29-2006 07:46 AM

Appeal to the smarks Jeff might not, but 'The Hardy Boyz' were a huge success with marks and undoubtedly Jeff was the main reason for that. His 'ladder falling' may not appeal to some pure-wrestling lovers but his style obviously appealed to many as he was one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster 99-02. If you were a kid at the time and you often asked people 'Who's your favourite wrestler?' Jeff Hardy would come up regularly. Like him or not he is a draw. And before you all write him off give him a chance, he's still young and could well regain the draw-power he once had. I'm not saying he should be a title contender...far from it but his matches are always good midcard matches or P.P.V openers.

The Ultimate Warrior was over too

NoRoolz 08-29-2006 08:49 AM

Yeah, I meant that in response to the Jeff bashing though. He's a proven draw with the capability to pull off some :O moves/bumps. Although he may not be a great 'wrestler', like I said I wouldn't want him as champion but as a midcard wrestler I find him pretty entertaining. And if he can regain his 99-02 drawing power then he can only do good for the company I guess. Except for supplying the locker-room with marijuana of course...

Petethegeekstreet 08-29-2006 08:57 AM

I'm just saying a sit pertain sto the thread Hardy could be the next Warrior with or with your little speech.

Fox 08-29-2006 10:41 AM

In all fairness, Hardy has had 2 great matches with Edge and Randy Orton, two of RAW's biggest players, since his return.

And I've only counted one botch.

Destor 08-29-2006 10:42 AM

Huh, and here I thought those matches were borderline terrible.

Destor 08-29-2006 10:43 AM

Different strokes for different folks.

Caged Heat18 08-29-2006 12:36 PM

I don't think he has looked too terrible in his two week return, but he also, is wrestling the same basic match with the same moves. He hasn't looked bad, but also nothing to write home about. Plus, it is only a matter of time, I believe before he loses his motivation and starts losing focus in is matches and starts botching moves.

TerranRich 08-29-2006 01:30 PM

You guys are gonna laugh/boo me out of here, but Jeff Hardy could be a more credible World Champion than Rey Mysterio ever was.

No, seriously, think about it. All Rey did was get squashed in non-title matches and get lucky in title bouts. If they did it juuuust right, they could use Jeff Hardy's insanity and physical selflessness to explain away how he could retain a belt against credible contenders. While most of the boys "play it safe" so to speak, Jeff goes all out and risks himself like a nutcase in every match.

They could even end the title reign when he injures himself due to his insanity. I dunno, booked right, it could work. If Rey can be WHC, so can Jeff Hardy...and Mae Young...and Earl Hebner...while still in TNA... :shifty:

McLegend 08-29-2006 01:41 PM

Dude anyone if booked right could be better champion then Rey Mysterio was.

Hanso Amore 08-29-2006 02:58 PM

Hardy actually seemed liek a threat in a ladder match against the taker for the title.

He was over as shit back before he got canned. he could have been pushed to the title. Now after he has lost alot of his fanbase over time, not so much. But he does appeal to for the most part white trash teenage boys and girls of all ages, and that is a huge part of the audience. I can see him maybe getting a upper card push, probably into a fued with Umaga(a la Brock)

Afterlife 08-29-2006 03:06 PM

I like Jeff. :)

El Fangel 08-29-2006 03:10 PM

Frankly I like Jeff as he did some insane shit which entertained, I haven't seen Raw lately so Im unsure of whats going on with him.

Also I find it strange that Shadow hasn't posted here yet :p

I was actually coming in here to bring up the match with Taker. It was good..it was very good actually. Quite possibly the best Taker match post the Deadman era. Plus it showed that if he gives a shit Jeff can be a star. He is undisputedly charismatic. I think he could be a huge star, but never World Champ. He could be, hell if Rey can anyone can. But Jeff shouldn't be World Champion. He should be at best the Mollion Dollar Man of the current era....and I am not meaning that Hardy has as much talent, simply comparing their place in the company. Jeff could be a wonderful main eventer who really makes it his career to put over other Main Eventers.

But I doubt it will happen like that. Hardy will get an IC Title run or two, maybe reunite the Hardys for a while, sooner or later he is gonna get busted for drugs and before you can say "The Next Shawn Michaels" (boy how many times did I use to hear that comparison) he will be gone.

Shadow 08-29-2006 03:11 PM

Shadow's busy man.

Sides, I'm tired and I dun wanna post anything of relevance about this just yet.

Radd went to a RAW show this weekend and said that there was a 3-way match with Carlito, Jeff and Nitro that was off the hook. I imagine we'll be seeing more of Hardy's ability come to the surface before his prognosticated drug bust.

And on that subject, I'd like to remind everyone that RVD had a 30 day suspension and Sabu got nothin', so Jeff may get a freebie on his first strike, should one arise.

Agreed. If he was ever champ I think I would kill myself. but I do think he is over enough to be a main eventer. He just clicks with his fans, those weird lamp shade wearing fucks. He has that IT factor. he can botch a million moves, he can paint himself stupid, he can show up once a month, but the hardy fans love him no matter what.

Itsa actually kind of scary....

Afterlife 08-29-2006 04:33 PM

Does he turn you on, Matt?

Rammsteinmad 08-29-2006 05:29 PM

I remember that Ladder Match with Undertaker. That was really exciting, especially coz I didn't read the results in advance, and so at times thought maybe Jeff might have a chance at winning the title.

And his match with Jericho from No Way Out 2003 was pretty good. I haven't watched Raw for the last two weeks so I don't know what he's been like, but hopefully he's got himself sorted and can work things out.

Juan 08-29-2006 06:45 PM

Whoa, I can understand not being a Jeff Hardy fan, but his match with Edge was not terrible. Clean your spectacles jerky.

Shadow 08-29-2006 08:02 PM

Had a quick nap and some weed, let's get down to the nitty gritty.

Jeff really isn't going to be the next Ultimate Warrior. Whoever came up with that shit can go fuck themselves on Vince's dick. He will never get to that leval of dumbassity that Warrior got to. Why? Jeff doesn't have that type of ego. Oh sure, I'll be the first to scream like a little girl when I hear those drum beats hit the speakers. But I'll also be the first to admit he's a fucking moron at times. Has he made the best decisions in his life? Absolutly not. But I'll still support him even when he's being an idiot.

I heard someone question how Jeff can be so over as he is. Someone said it couldn't be explained, that Jeff just has IT. Well, I think I can shed some light on how Jeff can be so over with the marks, even after being "dead" for three years. He looks like one of your friends. Think about it. Everyone has the daredevil, the pot-smoker who seems to be taking all the risks. So he can connect to alot of people just because of who he is.

So yeah...sorta a rambling reasoning for how Jeff can be as over as he is. And sorta how he won't self destruct like Warrior. He'll probably end up dead in North Carolina after 10 more years of abusing his body like he does.

Gerard 08-29-2006 08:09 PM

Hardy never got much of a reaction last night, usually you at least hear the high pitched girls squeals when he comes out, but last night during his entrance i was more fascinated by the fact i could hear a mouse farting in the arena. Even when he started shiouting "hardy hardy" there wasn't must reaction from the crowd. :-\

The One 08-29-2006 08:10 PM

For the shortened version of Shadow's post, please see post #25.

Nobody got much of a reaction last night.

Weird though.

The One 08-29-2006 08:14 PM

I was kind of suprised by the lack of response Jeff got last night...though Shadow does make a good point the entire night was kind of dead.

Shadow 08-29-2006 08:21 PM

Occasionally, even the retards make good points.

Even if your name is Vermaat.

St. Jimmy 08-29-2006 08:32 PM

Jeff is semi-entertaining and unpredictable, so he'll never be champion. That said I'd never want him as champion. He doesn't have the charisma that he used to. He looks burned out. Maybe cause I actually watched him in TNA I was turned off by him (turned off my TV).

Hanso Amore 08-29-2006 08:47 PM

Let Jeff win the title, and then replace the rated R spinner with a picture of him with a lampshade on his head.

Shadow 08-29-2006 08:53 PM

That's ratings right there.

Jaton 08-29-2006 10:02 PM

I've strangely marked out for him in the last 2 weeks.
