Smackdown Spoilers

Dark Match:

*Funaki defeated Sylvan.

Smackdown:

*Chavo Guerrero and Vicki Guerrero came out to explain themselves. Rey Mysterio came out. Vicki told Rey she was tired of all the fighting but Rey would never be a Guerrero and slapped him. Vicki walked out while Rey was left crying.

*Matt Hardy defeated WWE Cruiserweight champion Gregory Helms in what was presumably a non-title match.

*In a backstage segment, Teddy Long made a match between Finlay and Ken Kennedy for later tonight.

*The Miz pinned Tatanka with his feet on the ropes.

*Ken Kennedy captured the WWE United States championship, defeating Finlay and Bobby Lashley. Teddy Long announced that Bobby Lashley was added to the match, making it a Triple Threat match. Kennedy pinned Lashley, hooking the tights.

*A contract signing between WWE World champion King Booker and Batista is slated for later on.

*MVP is now sitting ringside with two women.

*Vito defeated William Regal by countout when he put the dress over Regal and his Lordship fled the ring.

*They do a backstage vignette with Jimmy Wang Yang talking about being a redneck.

*Michael Cole interviews MVP, who claims he can beat anyone from Smackdown, once he's given the right contract offer from Teddy Long. He says the crowd doesn't deserve to see him and leaves with his girls in tow.

*WWE tag Team champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick defeat The Pitbulls. KC James and Idol Stevens attack the champions. Pitbulls join in and both teams leave London and Kendrick down.

*WWE World champion King Booker and Batista have a contract signing and each discuss their match at No Mercy. Batista hits a spinebuster through a table to end the show.

This MVP guy better kick ass

Caged Heat18 08-30-2006 01:51 AM

Smackdown doesn't look bad this week. A Kennedy title win, Hardy vs. Helms, and Pitbulls vs. London/Kendrik sounds good to me.

No Elijah Burke or Sylvester Terkay?

Where's the logic in that booking, if they're trying to build them up.

Oh yeah, that's right...it's the WWE of 2006.

St. Jimmy 08-30-2006 03:45 AM

Kennedy and the US Strap is brilliant. Still won't be watching this glorified horse shit.

Terkay is a heat vacum, he's like the ludwig borga of 2006, just without the heat.

Burke is decent, he just reminds me of K-Kwick though, either that or D-Jay from streetfighter

I wasn't complaining as much as I was questioning the logic behind the booking.

I'm not really bothered whether I see them or not, but in the last few weeks, they've tried to build Terkay as a huge, unstoppable machine. They need to follow it up every week (as they do with Umaga).

It's just poor logic (or lack thereof), but it's what I've come to expect unfortunately, so I'm not surprised.

If you hated The Miz before, just wait until he gets going as a heel.

Fignuts 08-30-2006 09:58 AM

I hope he says "boo me" again. that was awesome.

You know your push is down the shitter when you lose to Funaki.

That's just a moot point, I mean at least in the dark match you're only losing in front of people in that arena. Yet, you're still losing to Funaki.

Y2Jeremy 08-30-2006 02:43 PM

Turkay will be back next week, and they will do a replay of him from 2 weeks ago like it happened yesterday.

Chavo Classic 08-30-2006 02:49 PM

Jimmy Wang Yang?

Rammsteinmad 08-30-2006 02:51 PM

I hate when they end the show with a "contract signing"... Especially because when Batista is involved the result is usually the same. Damn, how is it that Batista is so dull and boring at the moment? Before he left he was well over and full of fury and intensity.

Disturbed316 08-30-2006 06:15 PM

whoo Kennedy

Mr. Nerfect 08-31-2006 01:10 AM

Get off your high horses, people, this sounds like a great show.

Paul London & Brian Kendrick are in the fucking main event! Hopefully they got some good fifteen minutes for their match.

I get the feeling that Ken Kennedy may lose the United States Championship as early as No Mercy to Matt Hardy. I think this may just be a cushion win, so they can safely move Kennedy up the card, making it look like he's paid his dues. I suppose the US Champion gets a pretty good deal on SmackDown!, so Kennedy may hold onto the belt. I think he'll either have a very long reign, or a very short one.

The Miz needs to be a heel. No one gives a shit about him as a face. At least as an obnoxious piece of shit he will get heat.

I wish they'd actually go somewhere with Vito, and hopefully he is allowed to work some actual matches. This thing with Regal appears to be a step in the ring direction, and hopefully they have another match next week (I may change my opinion Friday, depending on the quality of the match).

Skippord 08-31-2006 01:50 AM

Miz should start a Nazi gimmick

JEW RAH

Nervous Ferret 08-31-2006 01:56 AM

Since when did Micheal Vincent Parsons sign with the WWE

"Your winner of this match, and still the WWE United States Champion, Misterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Kennedy! (pauses, heads up to top turnbuckle and uses a large mic) KENNEDY!

» J.R.: That's "KENNEDY (If you didn't see the RAW main event cuz you had to wait for it on USA due to tennis the main event was Finlay, Regal, and Kennedy vs. DX and when JR mentioned Kennedy (which was at least twice) he'd go for humor and he'd say that's "Kennedy", emphasizing "Kennedy" in a very deep, low voice, it was hilarious, but then ne raw commentary is better than Cole/JBL on SD! or Tazz/Styles on ECW.

:y: I think it will be a good show too. I think we're the only two on this forum who actually like Smackdown.

Crippla 08-31-2006 08:10 PM

I get this weird feeling they're gonna turn Tatanka heel as opposed to The Miz.

I love it too. It just finished 40 minutes ago in the UK, very good show. :y:

darkpower 09-02-2006 08:33 AM

My opinon about the show after I saw it:

- As a heel, Kennedy is pretty good, but the more he talks and gets over, the more fans love him, and chant with him (even though they boo his Green Bay stuff). I think I'm going to be the first to say it: The WWE should turn Kennedy face soon. I loved that Kennedy/Finlay face off they had in Long's office. They should work a feud together. And Kennedy as US Champ? WOOHOO!!
- The Miz, I think, is supposed to be annoying from what JBL kept saying (cheering for Tatanka and saying that he'd rather get a root canal). Just what the fuck are they doing with this Tatanka being screwed by refs bit, because right now, it's serving no purpose fast.
- MVP, I thought, was going to fight Cole, which I would've loved to see. For some reason, the commentary was at another level on the show, and seeing Cole and MVP get it on would've been icing on the cake. Moreso it may've gotten JBL to fuck the guy up (I thought that was what they were going with the way JBL was cutting down MVP throughout his presence).
- Was the botched table thing the first time intentional, or was the table pwning Batista and King Booker.
- Could someone PLEASE start making fun of Booker and Sharmell's royal bit? People are SO annoyed by Sharmell that it ain't funny, and while Booker is a joy to listen to, he takes FOREVER, something that I was laughing at when he was talking and I was looking at Batista looking at his watch. That's something that the WWE could try.
- They need one more tag team in that whole mess of the Pitbulls, McCool's team, and London/Kendrick. That would make it PURE gold.
- Somehow, I think they're moving Cena back to SmackDown.

Overall, a good show, better than it has been lately. Why is it that with the dwindling talent pool on SD, they have the better show?

Crippla 09-02-2006 09:10 AM

That was actually a very good SmackDown!(the best one in a long time). The only problem is the Booker/Batista fued for the World Title. They need to put more "originality" in it.

PullMyFinger 09-02-2006 01:00 PM

LOL I put on Smackdown at the final segment, and King Booker was fucking hilarious. "this peasant here!" and he dropped the contract clip board on purpose for Batista lmao

Tommy Gunn 09-07-2006 10:30 AM

An above average episode for sure.

Just watched it on video (so I can fastforward Booker's entrances and anything to do with the Vicky/Rey/Chavo bullshit). I feel slightly wrong for enjoying The Miz's match. He's got more charisma than half the Smackdown roster put together, I really like his energy.

Hardy/Helmes was great, and Mr Kennedy winning the U.S Title is GOOD booking for once! I don't like Lashley, he has really feminine looking eyes and zero charisma.

The table no selling Batista's first spinebuster was pretty good.
