Randy Orton

Hey, I hope this hasn't been posted, I didn't see it on the first page...

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Randy Orton is the first WWE wrestler to fail a drug test under the WWE Talent Wellness Program's new guidelines - which recently went into effect. Despite his failure in a recent drug test, he will not be pulled off the road. He will continue to appear on both TV and PPV shows, but as a general rule, he is not supposed to appear on house shows for 30 days. Orton didn't appear at any house shows this weekend. For that matter, he hasn't appeared at a house show in about a month.

Under the old guidelines, Orton would have been taken off the road for 30 days due to suspension. Also, he would have lost one month's worth of salary. Under the new guidelines, he will continue to work TV and PPV shows, but he will only have his road expenses covered and receive no bonuses for the shows. The only non-change in the new guidelines is that he will have his downside guarantee docked for 30 days.

WWE recently changed their guidelines because they didn't want to have to interrupt storylines or change PPV matches if a wrestler was to fail a drug test. WWE officials weren't happy with how things went down for the Great American Bash PPV back in July, and with the results for drug tests for RAW talent just now coming in, they didn't want to risk messing up their plans for the Unforgiven PPV

I'm glad that Orton does drugs. What makes me less happy is the fact that he will remain on my television screen.

Hopefully this means Carlito will go over. :y:

Yashamaga 09-10-2006 07:03 PM

He said when he got suspended that "the final straw" was when he smoked a joint in the locker room and someone(didn't say who) snitched on him so it's probably just weed.

M-A-G 09-10-2006 10:58 PM

The f*cker deserves to be suspended. He hasn't exactly had a model year. If they so desparately need him for the PPV, just have Carlito continue to build heat for the match on TV, have Orton appear and job at the PPV, and then carry on with the suspension and not allow Orton to receive a piece of the gate.

Crippla 09-10-2006 11:14 PM

Tbh, I like Orton but if he keeps fucking up, I don't think WWE will have that much of a problem with just letting him go.

I would too if my career was going to come crashing down because I have to job to the old, senile bastard in yellow and red.

So he gets caught doing drugs and he's only working one day a week because of this? Sounds pretty good to me. A lot of guys complain about wrestling full time and what it does to your body.

Doesn't sound like a punishment at all. After making him job to Hogan I guess they want to go easy on Orton. That would be punishment enough. Freaking Hogan, I wonder what he is doing right now. Probably humping that blonde woman. Freaking Hogan...

M-A-G 09-11-2006 01:02 AM

You mean that thing he calls a wife?

Brooke?

DrA 09-11-2006 01:31 AM

He doesn't have to work house shows? That sounds more like a reward than a punishment.

St. Jimmy 09-11-2006 01:57 AM

I say if you drop bad piss, and you aren't a major legit star (IMO, at the moment Orton is not) they dock your pay and make you work Smackdown. That is the only punishment I see fit compared to being suspended. OH. Also, they either give you a Tag Title or the Cruiser title, so you're guarenteed to have little to no TV time.

Cut his balls off.

NoRoolz 09-11-2006 09:46 AM

I always lose respect for wrestlers/celebrities when I find out they use drugs (not performance enhancing drugs or weed though). Dunno why really :-\.

This explains the towel pic though...

OverTaker 09-11-2006 09:57 AM

RVD probably is saying,

"WTF? Am I the only one around here getting suspended?"

Pepsi Man 09-11-2006 10:35 AM

Yeah, losing your paycheck isn't a punishment at all, just because you may still get to appear on TV and beat up your body for free as opposed to earning a handsome salary for it.
