Home Run King

What do you think?

*ESPN.com currently has the same poll running today on the main page. Very interesting results so far.

The Miz 09-14-2006 09:12 PM

lol why the hell are McGwire and Sosa choices? Bonds, McGwire and Sosa all obviously took steroids so why would somebody vote for 70 or 66 roided home runs over 73 roided home runs

Supreme Olajuwon 09-14-2006 09:19 PM

speculation is great but it's worthless without proof

Bonds is the record holder

Supreme Olajuwon 09-14-2006 09:22 PM

btw Hank Greenberg and Jimmy Foxx should be choices

YOUR Hero 09-14-2006 10:00 PM

I brought this pointup in the baseball thread about a week or so ago. For me, it's Ryan Howard. Simply because there's no scandal around him.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-14-2006 11:29 PM

How do you know Howard isn't on steriods though? Even though its obvious Barry Bonds took steriods, he is still the record holder. He wasn't tested, nobody can "prove" anything. Nice work Major Leauge Baseball :y:

OssMan 09-15-2006 12:43 AM

how do you know Roger Maris wasn't on steroids

dablackguy 09-15-2006 01:38 AM

All very fair questions. At this point, the allegations against Bonds are merely that, allegations. I do believe he cheated, as you can't just defy nature like he did.

It pains me to say it, but until its actually proven, I have to give it to Bonds.

BCWWF 09-15-2006 02:34 AM

Why is Ryan Howard even on the list? He hasn't even passed Roger Maris yet, and I don't think he even will. That being said, why is it so certain that Howard isn't on roids? Because of the new testing? HA. As long as nobody has been caught, they are all on the same playing field, and Howard would barely qualify for the list.

ct2k 09-15-2006 07:37 AM

Yknow tbh I don't give a fuck. Its Bonds for now but I don't think anybody believes he's innocent anymore, not even Giant fans.....Joe Morgan maybe

Stickman 09-15-2006 01:36 PM

Bonds has the record, therefore he wins. ITs pretty simple.

YOUR Hero 09-15-2006 10:29 PM

BCWWF, this is a hypothetical question a 'what if Howard hits 62'. You understand hypothetical, right?

Crippla 09-15-2006 10:48 PM

Bonds because of the roids but regardless, Howard won't beat his record.

weather vane 09-16-2006 01:28 AM

That was the least important part of my post, Einstien. Why is Ryan Howard any more legitimate than Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire or Sammy Sosa? He is just as guilty as they are right now in terms of steroids, which is officially not guilty.

YOUR Hero 09-16-2006 12:37 PM

Those 3 have an air of suspicion around them. Any suspicion Howard may have is a direct result of these 3 (and others) guys. Maybe one day your comprehension skills will improve.

ct2k 09-16-2006 12:45 PM

What are high schools, universities and the minor leagues like for drug testing?

The Miz 09-16-2006 12:46 PM

Genius 1 and Genius 2, explain how the hell you can vote for Mark McGwire

ct2k 09-16-2006 12:55 PM

Ok well i've voted Bonds, he's not been proven guilty, so regardless of the controversy I don't see how it can be anybody else. If you want somebody to blame, blame the MLB for its disgusting drug testing record.

You see, in the United States of America, there is somethign called "Innocent until proven guilty." Is that not a clear concept in Canada?

YOUR Hero 09-16-2006 02:06 PM

Which brings us back to hypotheticals. Remember?

BCWWF 09-16-2006 03:18 PM

How does that have anything to do with hypotheticals?

ct2k 09-16-2006 03:19 PM

Ok lets settle this like adults, BCWWF you're wrong, Hero you're also wrong, now make peace.

Big Vic 09-16-2006 08:30 PM

If we are going to hypothesize that Howard will get 62, then I'd think the leap to him being drug free whilst the others were not, is not much of a leap at all.

BCWWF 09-17-2006 12:20 AM

Simplify your sentence...

YOUR Hero 09-17-2006 11:05 PM

:nono:

Don't become dumb for the sake of an excuse.

YOUR Hero 09-17-2006 11:06 PM

BTW, Miz. McGwire is white, that is why he gets votes.

Skippord 09-17-2006 11:18 PM

Howard

This either doesn't make sense or else your opinion has changed. I can't tell because you tried to sound smart by writing the sentence in the most complicated way that you can.

Are you saying that Ryan Howard is just as likely to be on steroids as Bonds, McGuire and Sosa? Because that is how the sentence reads.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-18-2006 12:43 AM

lol Spilchuk was definetly hammered when he voted

The Outlaw 09-18-2006 07:33 PM

I think Rafael Belliard with his one career (I think) homerun wins.

FakeLaser 09-18-2006 07:52 PM

Future Hall of Famer Barry Bonds is the answer.
