Kurt Angle into MMA?

http://www.wrestleview.com/news2006/1158773232.shtml

Dear Angle Friends and Fans:

Kurt "The Machine" Angle wants to truly thank everyone for their concerns and best regards to his recovery and wellness. Kurt continues to read your kind messages and he feels truly blessed to have your support, as your well wishes continue to strengthen him mentally and physically. He also apologizes as he would love to reply to you everyone but unfortunately due to timing with his family, his rehabilitation, training, and business leaves very little time to converse.

Kurt wants me to update you, he's happy to express his physical condition is fastly rebounding. When Kurt left WWE, he was beaten and battered down at a mirror 220. Over the past many weeks with the right rest, a wonderful wife who is preparing the ideal diet, daily physical therapy, and back to good strength training we are happy to report he's up to a solid 240 with about 85% full flexibility....

As you may have seen or heard the latest news, Kurt Angle is a huge fan of all MMA programs (K1, UFC, PRIDE, WEC, and IFL to name a few) this former Olympic Gold Medalist and Extreme Athlete has the heart and the deep driven passion to show he's the best of the best. Angle has his sight on a full physical recovery and plans a day to put it all on the line....Real Fighter will have the exclusive....

thoughts?

Nervous Ferret 09-20-2006 02:51 PM

he has been recovering for like, 2 days.

Destor 09-20-2006 02:52 PM

He would be killed. Literally.

What Would Kevin Do? 09-20-2006 02:52 PM

Kurt...:nono:

Y2Jeremy 09-20-2006 03:02 PM

Apparently, he does not plan to start until 2007, and I think that with the proper surgeries, rest, and training, he could be alright.

Destor 09-20-2006 03:05 PM

Kurt Angle/Brock Lesnar a rematch for the ages!!!1!

TerranRich 09-20-2006 03:13 PM

What a nut.

Crippla 09-20-2006 03:31 PM

He needs a fucking break, jesus. He should take some time off but I think it could work eventually.

St. Jimmy 09-20-2006 03:55 PM

Two words: Legalized Suicide.

Mr. Aristocrat 09-20-2006 03:58 PM

After reading the letter he released, I really thought Kurt would take time to focus his life on personal matters and his family...but even our heros sometimes kill themselves over their addictions. Kurt! You're the best! We get it!

I think he should try the circus.

RP 09-20-2006 04:40 PM

I'm pretty sure if anyone knows Kurt Angles body, its Kurt Angle, so stfu now thx.

Stickman 09-20-2006 04:41 PM

Ya know it would probably be a bigger risk to your body to be a professional wrestler than it would be to be a MMA fighter. I mean, a real fight doesnt' have you being body slammed at high elevations onto your head or anything. Yeah you get kicked in the head and slammed down, but I don't think it'd take the toll that a TNA spotfest match would.

You and Rectal Pertruder are both missing the point.

Kurt Angle does not have the proper MMA training to succeed. Just because he was a great olympic wrestler, does NOT mean he'll be a successful shoot fighter. It's apples and oranges.

Given how bad Angle's neck already is, the guy risks being permanently crippled. All it takes is ONE accurate shot.

Is this whole board stupid or something, or is it just you two morons?

Tommy Gunn 09-20-2006 05:53 PM

A rejuvinated Kurt Angle to Smackdown in 2007. One can hope.

Mr. JL 09-20-2006 05:56 PM

Does Kurt Angle just not get it?

Make amends with you're wife, play with your little girl, sit on the couch, rehab injuries, take it fucking easy for awhile and enjoy the millions of dollars that you have earned.

Mister Sinister 09-20-2006 06:14 PM

Yeah, I seriously don't know what Kurt is thinking, He's been almost on the verge of death for 3 years, and granted he's moved pretty well for a deadman...

Save Your Undertaker jokes for later.

Kurt, there are many things you could do if you're worried about money, which you shouldn't be, You have a family and kids that missed there husband and Father....

If you want to remain in the spotlight...It isn't going to be MMA, Professional Wrestling or even acting, I think Kurt should focus on something much more important.

Becoming The President Of The United States

I mean, He's an American Hero, He American, He won a Gold Medal with a Broken Freaking Neck...If that doesn't deserve to be President, I don't know what does...

I mean, isn't running this country like being in Sports Entertainment, We have drug addictions, Death, War, Sexual Relations...and even X-Pac heat, when it came to running the white house in the past (and present)

St. Jimmy 09-20-2006 06:50 PM

I would vote for Kurt Angle. Fuck yeah. SUPLEX CRIME.

Anybody Thrilla 09-20-2006 07:31 PM

Well don't all my posts end that way...or just getting into a debate with the One, That Shelley is god instead of Nash?

M-A-G 09-21-2006 12:12 AM

Nice knowing you, Kurt, you selfish jackass.

Mr. Nerfect 09-21-2006 12:12 AM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is stupid on Kurt's part. At least he can protect himself in professional wrestling. Some douche is going to cripple Angle if he goes into MMA, I can feel it.

LOL wow. So pathetic

I'm not missing any point. I love how someone allows themselves to be critiqued on live television so many years and then when that someone faces a tough decision in life, all of a sudden everyone becomes the expert and has an opinion. Everyone knows how Kurt should live his life. Heres an idea, let the man live his own life. Worry about yours and believe me, if you truely think he's a selfish jackass for wanting to do what he loves, you're a fucking idiot. You dont know how much pain he's in. You dont know what shape he's in. All you know is whats reported on the fucking internet. You have no clue what Kurt Angle does in his dailey life routine. You dont know him personally. You wont ever know him personally. So SHUT THE FUCK UP! Your opinions mean shit. Stop acting like you all know Kurt Angle and you're looking out for him. Kurt Angle knows Kurt Angle best. Kurt Angle forms his opinions on what he should do with his life, based on his dailey events in life. His workout routines. How his body feels. How his training goes. What condition his personal and family life is in. You guys form your opinions on Kurt Angle based on fucking internet news storys. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK ALREADY! Do you all not realise how retarded you are? Telling someone you've never met, how to live his life. OMFG. You wrestling fans are the most clueless people ever. You're like your own political party. Theirs Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, Conservatives, Wrestling fan. Wrestling fan basically forgets the fact that they have no real pulse on any situation period and still forms a strong opinion based on third party information. BRILLIANT! God you're all fucking stupid. And then you wonder why i fucking say the things i say on here.

The Heat 09-21-2006 11:27 AM

^^^^^ Did anyone catch any of that? Me neither.

As much of a loss as it was for wrestling fans when Angle left, it's better for him. Going to MMA after recovering won't do anything but put him back into recovery[or perhaps a more permanent injury or paralysis]. Planned "sports entertainment" matches are a far cry from actual shoot fights.

These guys would break Angle's neck again and not flinch in doing so. Angle is a legend already for what he's done in his WWE career. Adding death to the list isn't the smartest thing to do.

BigDaddyCool 09-21-2006 11:29 AM

Kurt is old and injury prone. I mean he might have a good chance against like Shamrock or Tank Abbot or other guys past their prime. But Against the younger guys who do that kind of stuff every day he will get destroyed.

I'm mean remember the last Shamrock v. Ortiz, that is what it will look like at best.

At this point, I doubt it. Oh, and you can STFU anytime now.

Stickman 09-21-2006 01:03 PM

I dont' understand why people are saying if he did MMA he'd get his neck broken? I really really don't get that. There's a better chance of him breaking is neck in the WWE than in the UFC. Yeah, he'd probably get beat up like Shamrock, but if he wants to do it, let him do it. LIke fuck, 2-4 fights a year compared to like 200 days on the road taking the bumps that wrestlers take. I'd go out on a limb saying a pro wrestler risks his life every day he's in a ring. A MMA fighter will probably not face serious injury. Dana White preaches "nobody has ever died or suffered serious injury in the Octagon". You can't drop somebody on their head, you can't kick a downed opponent in his head, you can't punch somebody to the back of the head, you have a ref who will jump in when it's obvious the fight is over. Come on, professional wrestling is way more dangerous than mixed martial arts.

Take an action figure, and take it outside. Smash it with a 20lb sledge. That's how Kurt is in real life. His body is smashed, broken, and scarred. He shouldn't even get off a fucking couch. He shouldn't be getting hit in the head, he should be jobbing to a bag of potatoe chips and watching TV.

I absolutely beg to differ.

He won't be a top champion but he can easily be a top star and make more money doing one fight that might last 2 minutes than he could doing 220 days a year with WWE.

Goulet 09-21-2006 03:39 PM

From a promoter’s point of view, there is no doubt that the curiosity factor in signing Angle to fight would be potentially huge. How many Olympic Gold Medalists have stepped into this particular arena? I mentioned many weeks ago that some promoter would try and hook up the two former WWE stars Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar which is a lay-up. It doesn’t take a Vince McMahon or a Vince McMahon wannabe long to figure that one out. My two cents on this matter is that Kurt should stay as far away from the mixed martial arts world as possible. Yes, there is huge money to be made for a few fights but at what cost? I say the potential risk facing Kurt is too great to even think of traveling down this road. I am not condemning the promoters of this genre as they are in the business of making money and most defiantly Kurt Angle in the MMA world is money but is the risk of permanent injury worth the cash? Not where I sit.

Stickman 09-21-2006 03:45 PM

Risk of professional wrestling is not worth the cash

To an extent, RP's right. Then again, I'm for Euthanaisa, and can't be arsed if consenting (or stupid) people weed themselves from the gene pool.

If he wants to die in a ring, let him die in a ring. Even if that ring is four/six/eight sided.

Though his spazz out should have probably been directed at someone else's post, since MAG wasn't telling him what to do.

Either way, who gives a shit? About Kurt or RP?

Man, who the hell are you to say that man can't train for MMA. UFC is not mortal kombat. There is no fatality at the end of every match. The man was chosen as the greatest freestyle wrestler of all time, and if he trains correctly and rest, he could try it. You act like you are the fuckin authority on Kurt Angle's ability. If he tries and gets hurt, its on him. He is a grown man. And don't call me a moron for stating my opinion.

Damn, so the arena doesn't go dark, and a deep voice doesn't say, "Finish him!"?
