Vince Russo rejoins TNA
The big surprise that will supposedly change the entire history and face of the industry that TNA is promoting for Sunday's PPV is the return of Vince Russo.
In a panic move driven by the decline in ratings (which has been across the board for every pro wrestling and MMA TV show and not specific to TNA), the company has hired Russo to join the booking committee. Russo will work with Dutch Mantel and Jeff Jarrett. Mike Tenay and Scott D'Amore have been taken off the committee. It's unclear where Jeremy Borash stands. The company has given Russo guidelines that there can be no sleaze on its wrestling shows, whatever that is supposed to mean. The announcement will be made to the wrestlers over the weekend. At this point it is unclear what this will mean as far as personnel, but there will likely be a shake-up there as well. At this point we have no indication that any major players will be quitting immediately over this, although some will likely not renew their deals. The announcement does kill dead the Bill Goldberg negotiations. I'd imagine Jim Cornette is done now too which is a shame since he is the best thing on their TV by a mile. |
Oh boy.
|
D'Amore done...Cornette probably won't stick around...so it's Jarrett and Russo sitting at the helm alone...
Jarrett is going to have his face carved into the title I swear... |
What a fucking lame ass surprize.
|
Source?
|
|
Weren't Russo and Jarrett on top of WCW when it turned into diarreah?
|
I don't think Jarrett had power in WCW. Could be wrong...
|
noooooooooooooooo, well it is time for roh to get a tv deal tna just put themselvs in the shitter.
|
If ROH got a TV deal they'd end up the way TNA has because they'll be catering for the main stream, which means a heavy emphasis on Sports Entertainment and 5 minute squashes.
|
One idea they could do but I doubt they will is a Cornette/Russo angle where they are like the co-gm's or whatever they call the kind of like Bischoff and Austin were. I don't know why but I think that would be kind of interesting.
|
I'd like to see a wrestling promotion on TV like old school wrestling promotions. Fuck sports entertainment, take a page out of the history books.
|
Vince Russo killed my interest in TNA when he first took over. =/
Seriously, how the hell was he supposed to put AJ Styles over when he towered over him in size? It made AJ styles look like a chump standing next to Russo. Also, the whole S.E.X. stable was just awful to watch. Pretty much a rehash of the New Blood angle, only worst. |
I love Russo. That said, it's going to be fucking awesome watching him run TNA even more into the ground. Even I didn't think that was possible.
|
LOL. Vince Russo will change the face of the industry.
I will admit, unlike many, I enjoyed the S.E.X. angle. It's what got me watching TNA in the first place. So I dunno about this. I'm still probably not going to watch TNA until I hear if he has had any sort of impact (no pun intended) on the product. I've never had a hatred for the guy, but some of the shit he comes up with is whack, that's for sure. |
I may start watching just to see TNA die.

Who wants to be there will be a crucifixion before he goes out again?

lol bye bye TNA

I just read on Wikipedia about this guy during WCW and from what I read i'm suprised another promotion would want to take him on. Then again Wikipedia isn't the most reliaable source so I question how much of it is actually true. From what I understood he had a leash on him in WWF but not in WCW. I have seen the clip of WCW with the shoot promo on Hogan or whatever the fuck happened.
So if he has a leash on him how good can his stuff be, because it only really went into detail on the WCW stuff and not the WWF material, what was he responsible for (Good or Bad) in WWF? |
Well he found Jesus somewhere, so he might have changed. Will have to wait and see.

Him being a Christian means we will likely see the NWA Title put around Sting and AJ Styles constantly. Actually, that may be the top feud in TNA now. They could do worse, but they could do much better.
Anywho, I'll wait to see what he does before I judge him. Russo at least knows how to reach the bottom of his roster. Some of his shit is crazy, but he's the closest thing to a smark writing a TV wrestling show. I'd take that over Nickelodeon writers, anyday. |

Quite out of character for Jesus I must say. |
You obivously haven't seen Passion of the Christ II

This could either be decent or REALLY terrible.
|
I'm staking my money on MIND BLOWINGLY terrible...like, it'll be on par with One Night in Chyna, every Thursday night on Spike TV. Traumatizingly bad. But I'm pessimistic by default, so don't think too much into that.

Thats one of the reasons why I havn't watched TNA. The idea of a feed based around Jeff Jarret just doesn't seem worth my time. I might actually watch it next week so I can form my own opinion but from what I've read of other peoples opinions it just doesn't sound good.

Fuckin yes!!!

Well I think brining Vince Russo back could be good, becasue you can't get any worse then the past month of TNA shows.
However IF this is the big announcment then I say this is horrible. |
