Who are the best/your favorite drummers in the business today?

So I'm gonna invest in buying a drum kit.

But in the time being, answer question (in title)

Lars from Metallica, although he's an asshole.

El Vaquero de Infierno 09-22-2006 01:52 PM

Danny Carey - TOOL
Brian Vigilione (sp?) - Dresden Dolls

el fregadero 09-22-2006 02:59 PM

Danny Carey - Tool
Brad Wilk (Audioslave and ex-RATM) is a stud too, but he's no Danny

D Mac 09-22-2006 03:01 PM

The drummer from Godsmack also rules. Sully isn't a bad drummer himself either.

weather vane 09-22-2006 04:43 PM

So did I. He is the best drummer.

Just John 09-22-2006 04:54 PM

I was going to give her a mention, too. She's not the absolute greatest on the kit, but the way she moves her head is eerie as fuck.

Yeah, he was solid in Meliah Rage.

Nobody mention Lars again. He might as well be a floutist for all the talent he has at drums.

And Travis Barker, too.

Arashi Kage 09-27-2006 06:30 PM

Scott Travis - Judas Priest (arguably the best double bass drummer)
Robb Reiner - Anvil (anyone know Anvil? Canadian Legends)
Dan Beehler - Exciter (can sing almost as well as Rob Halford in addition to drumming)
Bobby Jarzombek - Halford / Sebastian Bach

Kris P Lettus 09-27-2006 08:20 PM

Vinnie Paul

I dunno. That setup looks simple enough to me. :shifty:

Stanton Moore of Galactic. He played on the last COC album (In the Arms of God). The intro to the title track and fills are fucking INSANE. He's also the best drummer I've ever seen live, and I say that after having seen Vinnie Paul, Dave Lombardo, Danny Carey, Dale Crover, Paul Bostaph, and a horde of other killer percussionists.

Silent 10-08-2006 05:02 AM

Stanton Moore is pretty awesome.

MVP 10-10-2006 11:18 PM

No mention of Travis Barker yet :(
