You are all smoking something. No way will Padres beat the Cards.

Suppan, Weaver and Reyes are complete garbage. Well, maybe not Reyes but he has under 100 IP in the majors for his career and has been really inconsistant all season. Still, I wouldn't want any of them starting a playoff game for me. Chris Young, David Wells and Woody Williams are far superior. Carpenter > Peavy also.

The Cardinals completely backed their way into the playoffs, couldn't even beat the goddamn Brewers. The Padres should be able to easily beat them, and right now I don't see why they aren't favorites to win the NL pennant (even though they would have finished fourth in the AL Central.

I hope (and assume) we'll be getting game two of the NYY/DET series on wednesday, although Twins/A's is bound to be good too.

My predictions:

NLDS: Mets over Dodgers, 3-1
NLDS: Padres over Cardinals, 3-2

ALCS: Tigers over Twins, 4-2

Lol, I just looked at the web site for the Detroit Free Press and the Lions loss and the Red Wings preseason win were given higher play than the Tigers.

Those "goddamn Brewers" you speak of happen to be a pretty good team.

Brewers were not far off for most of the season, with a few offseason tweaks they're bound to be closer to the race next year, especially considering the state of the rest of the league.

The Brewers are not a "pretty good team." They finished fourth in the worst division in baseball, and finished 13/16 in the national league. I don't care how good you think they are, if St. Louis needs to beat them in order to make the playoffs, and goes 2-2 against them, how are they expected to win in the playoffs? The only reason St. Louis is in the playoffs right now is because Houston didn't start its run until too late.

I am seeing the Twins win it all after the way they've been where playing to finish up the regular season. I also agree with the Miz and see the NL team getting swept in the World Series no matter the combination
