TPWW AL Rookie of the Year voting 2006
Bobby Jenks is eligible by like 3 innings.

Verlander, but Jenks could suprise (thanks to what he did in the playoffs last year).

I really think Verlander put the Tigers over the top this year. Although there is a deep pool to choose from and many people could be rightly awarded it, I like Verlander for this award. Liriano had he not had so much injury troubles.
|
Papelbon or Weaver. I would have said Liriano if he hadn't got injured.
|
I think Verlander will win, and it is probably deserved because he was healthy all year, but for the time that Liriano was pitching this year, he was not only the best rookie, but the best pitcher in the major leagues. Johan was second in command for a while. I know this is more of an argument for the MVP, but Liriano's starting dominance coincided with the Twins season turnaround.
If all were healthy: 1. Liriano 2. Papelbon 3. Verlander But it is hard to give it to guys who missed part of the season |
And it is a travesty that Jered Weaver is not on my list, but that says something about the other three guys. At least there are a couple young pitchers coming into the league, this year was at a serious lack of them.
|
Verlander for me, gotta love Weaver and Liriano though. And Melky:D
