marvel ultimate alliance thread

so its set to come out 10/25. ebgames.com says if you pre-order you get a special code to unlock silver surfer. so does that mean he will only be unlockable through that code? any idea on confirmed list of villians and heroes. the official website takes forever to load.

Blitz 10-18-2006 09:14 PM

Wow, way too many games out/soon to be out. This, FFXII, SvR07, Bully, Guitar Hero.

Need more money :(

Blitz 10-18-2006 09:15 PM

Oh and Tony Hawk Project 8 or whatever :(

Bad Company 10-18-2006 09:39 PM

Or hack your xbox360 drive like me and hire them out and burn em.

ClockShot 10-18-2006 09:46 PM

SPLINTER CELL: DOUBLE AGENT!

Blitz 10-18-2006 09:49 PM

Could give a fuck about Splinter Cell.

Bad Company 10-18-2006 09:56 PM

Gonna Crank the Lego Star Wars 2 tonight methinks

ClockShot 10-18-2006 09:59 PM

It's actually pretty damn good to be honest. I'll pick this up when my account is in good shape. What I want to hear more about is Marvel Universe Online.

Boondock Saint 10-18-2006 11:21 PM

Think I may pick this and Bully up. This for the Xbox though. I never played Xmen Legends but I know these are RPG type games. I hate FF, or RPGs where you take turns fighting. Although I thought KOTOR was ok. I enjoyed Fable (could have been better) and I like Zelda, although I've been told thats not really an RPG.

But whatever, what would this game be more along the lines of?

Funky Fly 10-18-2006 11:34 PM

Really wish I had my PS2 right about now. Way to much awesome coming out at once.

The Genius 10-19-2006 12:26 AM

boondock, i dont like traditional turn based rpgs either but x-men legends 2 and this are more along the lines of action fighting based with the rpg element of being able to alter the stats of your character and give them additional equipment.

each character of your 4 man team has 4 special mutant powers and then you have your basic brawler punch and kick attacks.

how are you supposed to fight Galactus in this?!

Funky Fly 10-19-2006 05:22 PM

Probably the same way you fight the last bosses in the x-men games.

Disturbed316 10-19-2006 07:20 PM

I've been keeping a loose eye on this, so many other games are out when this comes out though.

Fignuts 10-19-2006 08:45 PM

The only thing I dont like about these kind of games is the way they blend the 616 and ultimate universes.

Destor 10-19-2006 10:19 PM

Can anyone get a list of all the confirmed characters in the game? Hero and Villains please.

Destor 10-19-2006 10:22 PM

(rep will be given of course)

Kalyx triaD 10-19-2006 11:31 PM

Spider-Man
Logan
Blade
Thor
Elektra
Fantastic Four (All members)
Iron-Man
Cap America
Silver Surfer (via special code that'll end up online anyway)
Ice-Man
Storm
Ghost Rider
Dr. Strange

Punisher?
Hulk?

Destor 10-19-2006 11:32 PM

Sweet list. I heard the Hulk wasn't in this? Can anyone verify this?

Kalyx triaD 10-19-2006 11:36 PM

Actually the last two are guesstimates of mine. Personally I wanna have Punisher and Blade on the same team.

Destor 10-19-2006 11:38 PM

Ah, also are there any list of confirmed villains?

Kalyx triaD 10-19-2006 11:45 PM

There hasn't been any coverage on the bad-guys, but one can assume every hero's arch-enemy will make an appearance.

The Destroyer 10-20-2006 01:10 PM

Most of this info is lifted from Wikipedia, so it might not be 100% reliable...

Confirmed playable:

Blade
Captain America
Deadpool
Dr. Strange
Elektra
Ghost Rider
Human Torch
Iceman
Invisible Woman
Iron Man
Luke Cage
Mr. Fantastic
Spider-Man
Spider-Woman
Storm
The Thing
Thor
Warbird (or Ms Marvel, not sure which persona she's in)
Wolverine

Hawkeye, Ronin, Captain Marvel and Nova are supposedly PSP exclusives.

Colossus and Moon Knight are apparently next gen console exclusives.

Rumours that Black Panther, Nick Fury, Daredevil and Silver Surfer will be unlockable. And there's been long standing rumours about Punisher and the Hulk being unlockable, but there's been absolutely nothing besides the suggestion they might be X-Box 360 exclusives, but no word on that.

There's also alternate skins for certain characters that basically turn them into whole new characters. Iron Man has War Machine, Spidey has the Scarlet Spider and there's a few others.

Villains revealed: Abomination, Arcade, Attuma, Baron Mordo, Blackheart, Bullseye, Crimson Dynamo, Dark Phoenix, Deathbird, Dragon Man, Doctor Doom, Dormammu, Empress S'ybill, Enchantress, Executioner, Fin Fang Foom, Galactus, Gladiator, Grey Gargoyle, Kraken, Kurse, Loki, Madarin, Mysterio, Mephisto, MODOK, Radioactive Man, Rhino, Scorpion, Shocker, Super-Skrull, Tiger Shark, Titannus, Ulik, Ultron, Winter Soldier, The Wrecking Crew, Ymir.

Bound to be more to come on top of that though... since some of them are mighty obscure.

There's also a load of NPCs that apparently include some of the Inhumans, the Gods of Asgard, various X-Men members and assorted others.

The Genius 10-20-2006 11:24 PM

rhino!? scorpion?! ultron?! luke cage?! gotta get a pre-order on this asap.

Yeah, like it was stated, the Legends games only incorporate elements of RPG games such as leveling up and conversations. But it's very streamlined and a lot more hands-on in terms of action. You'll be doing more ass-kicking than worrying about things like hidden areas, obtaining certain objects, and other traditional RPG stuff. In other words, it doesn't feel like an RPG.

The Destroyer 10-21-2006 03:40 PM

The only real RPG element is the fact your characters level up and gain skills. Otherwise it's way more action orientated.

I heard he's not in it because another game company has exclusive rights for Hulk in video games right now.

ClockShot 10-23-2006 09:02 AM

For those of you looking for stuff to get free when you purchase the game. Here are some stores offering free suff with purchase of this game.

EB Games/Gamestop: Pre-Order, get the code to unlock Silver Surfer

Target: Free unlockable Daredevil character. (That's what the flyer says, so I'm assuming a code) Quantities limited; no rain checks.

Circuit City: Free X-Men: The official game (X-3) with purchase of the 360 or PS2 titles. While supplies last, minimum 3 per store. 29.99 - 39.99 value.

Best Buy: Free comic book with purchase of any Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. Minimum 16 per store. No rain checks.

Hope this helps some of you.

The Destroyer 10-23-2006 02:34 PM

Silver Surfer and Daredevil are probably going to be unlockable in the game through normal means anyway, so those deals are hardly as wonderful as they seem.

Kalyx triaD 10-23-2006 04:28 PM

Anybody play the other game, Justice League Heroes?

The Genius 10-29-2006 08:39 PM

so far my only complaint is that by default they make all the upgrades automatic and you have to go in to each character and turn off auto upgrade and gear equipping. but an hour in and the game is amazing.

Mister Sinister 10-29-2006 09:40 PM

I just gotta Say, Captain America is an fucking beast in this game.

And I <3 Deadpool!

G 10-29-2006 09:46 PM

I think someone should buy this for the 360 from me for $40.

Mister Sinister 10-29-2006 09:47 PM

I would but already have it, on X-Box and PSP, haven't even touched the PSP version yet

LoDownM 10-29-2006 10:02 PM

I love this game. Played it for like 7 hours yesterday.

Funky Fly 10-29-2006 10:25 PM

Soooooooooooooooooooooo jealous rite now.

WHY DID I LEAVE MY PS2 IN CANADA?

Destor 10-29-2006 10:55 PM

This game is like 12 kinds of awsome. I'm in Act 3 right now, but I can tell you I will play this 10 times after I beat it.

Fox 10-29-2006 11:50 PM

I just got Justice League Heroes instead of Marvel Ultimate Alliance (I was literally holding them both in my hands and doing a double take over and over again).... starting to wonder if I made a bad choice.

JLH is a lot of fun, but has anyone here played both games? If so, which is better?

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is better, and I'm not saying it because I'm an Marvel Fanboy

Justice League is good, but lacks compared to UA

I didn't like how in Justice League, you had to play as certein heroes in certein levels, No Side Quests, and not very much gameplay (Can beat in 10-15 Hours)

While Marvel UA offers you...24 Playable Characters, the ability to create your own team (As in name and give them an logo as well as giving team stats and having fighters as reserves)

And I've been playing for 15 Hours and I'm still only in the beginning of Act 3 of End of 2, whatever Ashgurd is..

Mister Sinister 10-30-2006 02:22 AM

Also just to clarifly, I'm not dissing Justice League Heroes, It's good, I just like Ultimate Alliance Better.

Blitz 10-30-2006 02:29 AM

Goddddddddddddd TOO MANY GAMES TO BUY
