Actually, it's Xbox Next.

Been like that for a long time now. Most people will just call it by Xbox 2 probably because that's what it's still being refered to.

Or because it sucks less.

Dreamcast was called Katana when it was still in the works. omething better will come out eventually.

Hasn't been announced but I'm guessing around then as the PS3 is suppose to be around 2005.

That would be a disaster. As of the moment with the talks of specs the PS3 is more powerful then the Xbox Next and the fanbase for the Playstation systems are far more broad then Xbox.

If you look at a Dreamcast processor chip, it says KATANA on it.

Just thought I would point that out.

Dolphin was just the codename for the system, was never said to be its name. And Gekko was the codename for its chipset I believe.

And DS, I am pretty sure it is now Next Box, they changed it a few days ago.

either way i'm getting it. it's just a name. besides, before 'playstation' :roll: came out, what did you think of that name?

NeXt Box has been the name of it for like...a year or so now. They announced this name for it when they first announced that a second X-Box would be released.

I've talked to 3 different guys at 3 different gaming stores and they have said that the PS3 will be released around 2007-2008. If so I will be super pissed :foc:

It's not the official name for it but I'm still pretty sure it's Xbox Next.

And as of now Sony has been shooting for a 2005-2006 release. That's just a very broad date also because they haven't named any date at all. So whoever says its 2007-2008 is guessing about as much as anyone who says 2005-2006 (me). 2005/6 is a more reasonable date though.
