So, I'm completley new to it and apparently I should get FF7 for PS1 I have no idea what you do or anything.

More importantly though, get Suikoden 1 and 2 for playstation 1 :)

FF7. FF10. FF2 (US). I suggest those three to start. Avoid FF9.

Suikoden is awesome. Great story, tons of characters, etc. Essentially, you lead a rebellion against the Kingdom, and recruit an army. You can actually recruit 108 characters.... Not all of them are playable, but you can probably use a good 60 different people in battle. It's a damn good game...

Actually, if you have a PS2, Suikoden 5 might be a better game to play first, since graphically, it's a little more pleasing. Suikoden 1 and 2 are sprite based... Still fucking awesome games though.... I'd say better than most of the FF series.

Also, get FF Tactics in addition to FF7 and Suikoden 1,2, and 5.

Also get Suikoden 3.

Do not listen, FF9 is great. Also enjoyable are 6-8. Avoid 10 like the plague.

FF9 was a disappointment. FFX is great.

Agreed. I ADORED ten, whereas I thought 9 was a freaking train wreck. Only one good character (Kuja), gay storyline, etc, etc.


FF XII is coming in at Hastings Tuesday. We're getting in 80 copies, so it must be predicted to do well. Got mine preordered, natch.

Kuja is the worst villain in FF (and possibly game) history.

And will def pick up XII this week.

I dunno. I'd kinda put the worst villain title to Ultimecia (IMO). Edea OR Ultimecia for that matter. Didn't really care for the villains in FF8 aside from Seifer, Fujin, and Raijin.

Eden and Ultimecia were both pretty bad, but Kuja is worse.

The only good thing about FF9 was Vivi and the card game :P

Final Fantasy II (IV in Japan) was the best one. Get Final Fantasy Chronicles for PS1.

What the fuck was wrong with FFX? If anything, people should be avoiding FFX-2.

I adored X-2.

However, I really have a horrible problem with 9.

Just picked up FF XII, so we're gonna see how it goes. :D
