Smallville

The other thread kinda got top'd on so I got this lil thread to post everything pre-Supes.

I liked last week's eps. Had an air of Final Destination in it, though it turned out to be pretty far fetched (astro-projection?). Then again, Smallville's been pretty far fetched anyway.

This weeks eps had no Green Arrow, but it did have... Bow Wow?!? Let's forget the boy-rapper for now, I'm sensing that the season ender this year will cover Clark's final decent into Superman-hood, his training in the Fortress as shown in the Donner Superman movie way back when. I'm still wondering how Batista's gonna appear in the show. Crazy as it sounds I can't help thinking Doomsday...

El Fangel 11-02-2006 11:01 PM

Nope, Batista will replace Tom Welling. :shifty:

Kalyx triaD 11-02-2006 11:04 PM

Super-BOMB!!!

El Fangel 11-02-2006 11:50 PM

Im thinking he may play a normal, none vesseled ZOD.

Destor 11-03-2006 12:37 AM

He will some random person from the Phantom Zone. Would you really let someone who can't act have a large role? No, no you wouldn't.

Destor 11-03-2006 12:37 AM

Also, did this need a new thread?

Lock Jaw 11-03-2006 12:39 AM

I'm thinking he'll just be a "zoner".

And if he did that whole Donner training thing at the end of this season, it would mean it was the last season, and I think there's supposed to be more.

Destor 11-03-2006 12:41 AM

Only one more season at most. Bu I've read several things saying this is the last season, other saying there would be one more. I can't find anything concrete.

Would you put someone in the ring, who has no talent and can't wrestle?

Vince McMahon: Yes, Yes I would.

Clearly you don't need talent to make it in entertainment, you need looks and fame, gained for whatever reasons.

Destor 11-03-2006 12:47 AM

That a pretty stupid comparison. For decades talentless wrestlers have risen top the top on the back of a good look and being big. NOT THE CASE IN ACTING. He will some random zoner who will be taken out in one episode while only delivering 5 lines of dialog. Wait and see. Comparing wrestling and acting aren't the same thing.

El Fangel 11-03-2006 12:54 AM

Is wrestling really that far from acting though, its more or less physical acting, you have to remember stuff to do/say.

and I also have to agree it was a bad comparison, but I thought it would be funny :p.

Yeah he will likely be a one liner, but he would look wicked as ZOD.

Destor 11-03-2006 12:55 AM

Is what you do that far? No not at all. But how they treat talent is not even comparable. (But yeah he would look sweet as ZOD.)

Stoned, I omitted a word: Is what you do that far apart?

El Fangel 11-03-2006 01:06 AM

Far apart from what though.

Destor 11-03-2006 01:08 AM

You could read your post and figure that out...

El Fangel 11-03-2006 01:09 AM

I could but...FFS Just tell me :p

El Fangel 11-03-2006 01:19 AM

I did not say that it was some dumbass named Fallen Angle. :p

Destor 11-03-2006 01:21 AM

Intentional.

El Fangel 11-03-2006 01:23 AM

Yeah. I know.

Kalyx triaD 11-03-2006 10:24 AM

Can't believe you guys are talking acting skills when Bow Wow just mean-mugged his way through an entire episode lol.

If this isn't the last season next year will be. Although the show's contract may have been renewed with extension clauses up the ass with CW. Didn't that happen with 7th Heaven? They had like 4 LAST episodes.

Yeah, seriously, how fucking retarded are people?

Is this, like, the first time someone has been cast for a role without having the requisite talent to play it? Especially in the case of a "celebrity?"

Yeah, last season was suppose to be it, but the ratings were so high with the last episode and everyone hated how it left so much shit hanging and blah blah blah, that they brought us (well, them) more.

Kane Knight 11-03-2006 10:34 AM

A lot of shows get renewed despite their "final" episodes.

Though Stargate cracks me up the most. Half of its seasons were the last one.

Kalyx triaD 11-03-2006 02:39 PM

Never got into Stargate, either of them. I hear they wanna do another movie that takes place ten years after the first one. I'd think the popularity of the serie's mythology should get a movie adaptation, but again I don't watch the shows so that's not my call.

Kane Knight 11-03-2006 03:17 PM

Technically, they'd have to do it at least 11 years after, or travel back in time.

They do want to do a movie, and one of the creators of the show says it will happen if he has anything to do with it, but they're still looking to do Season 11.

Anyway, I brought it up more because it's been cancelled 5 times now. Cancelling a show these days has as much credibility as a Who farewell tour...Unless the cast gets blown up or something, it's hard to buy until it really isn't picked up again.

Kalyx triaD 11-03-2006 05:44 PM

Is it still about alien-Egyptions trying to take over our world?

Currently, it's about Christians trying to destroy the Galaxy.

El Fangel 11-03-2006 08:45 PM

When did stargate turn into a reality show?

The executives, having seen a tape of the first season of Survivor, were certain that this reality TV craze would catch on eventually. IT started small, with "Who Wants to Marry a parasitic alien," And it kind of went downhill from there.

El Fangel 11-03-2006 09:10 PM

I really have to get out from under my rock.

Kalyx triaD 11-12-2006 04:44 PM

In other news; Superman Returns' sequal may be known as Superman: The Man of Steel, or simply The Man of Steel. Director B. Singer says it'll have more action less talk. If Wolverine's rage attacks in X2 is any indication, I believe him. Speaking of Logan...

Singer expresses interest in helming the upcoming Wolverine solo film.

That is all.

Kalyx triaD 12-14-2006 09:07 PM

Cyborg, Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow. All return.

One episode.

Nerd-gasm.

January.

Blitz 12-14-2006 09:44 PM

I have not watched an episode since like October :-\

Kalyx triaD 12-14-2006 09:48 PM

TV.com, episode guide. Catch up.

Blitz 12-14-2006 09:50 PM

Dunno if I wanna. Thought last season was pretty bad.

Destor 12-14-2006 09:52 PM

This season has completely lost my interest. My watch the next ep. but if it isn't any good I'm out for permanent.

Lock Jaw 12-14-2006 10:09 PM

By all accounts every season of Smallville has been bad (at least when compared to other "good" shows) but I can't stop watching it.

Volchok 12-14-2006 11:50 PM

Tbh, I've never seen the show, borrowed the second season because my friend couldn't find the first. And I fell in love with the show.
