Best Album of 2006..

With the year almost over, lets see what TPWW's favorite album of 2k6 is..

I'd say Gnarls Barkley-St Eleswhere easily..

Honerable mention to Obie Trice-Second Rounds On Me

Yeah..

Just John 11-08-2006 12:34 PM

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam

Blitz 11-08-2006 01:35 PM

Maybe wait till the end of the year to do this.

Kris P Lettus 11-08-2006 03:45 PM

Maybe not..

Yea, the year has to come closely to its end to make suggestions Kris. Jay-Z hasn't dropped yet, Lil' Wayne still has The Carter III to come out with, and much, much more!

FakeLaser 11-08-2006 05:40 PM

My early nominations:
Heavens - Patent Pending
The Mars Volta - Amputechture
The Early November - The Mother, The Mechanic and The Path
Cursive - Happy Hollow
The Album Leaf - Into The Blue Again
Comets on Fire - Avatar
Xiu Xiu - Air Force

The winner will probably be:
Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

Haven't heard the Army of Anyone CD yet.

Skippord 11-08-2006 10:18 PM

Slayer - Christ Illusion

MVP 11-08-2006 10:45 PM

So far:

The Early November - The Mother, The Mechanic, and the Path
Hit the Lights - This is a Stick Up, Don't Make it a Murder
Moneen - The Red Tree
Matchbook Romance - Voices
Punchline - 37 Everywhere
Saves the Day - Sound the Alarm
The Prize Fighter Inferno - My Brother's Blood Machine
Angels and Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper
Dashboard Confessional - Dusk and Summer

Brand New and +44 will likely make the list when they come out

Blitz 11-08-2006 10:59 PM

+44 is really good.

Buzzkill 11-08-2006 11:36 PM

The Decemberists - The Crane Wife

RP 11-09-2006 01:39 AM

Justin Timberlake

Just John 11-09-2006 01:24 PM

Ben Harper - 'Both Sides Of The Gun' may be an entry from me, but I havent heard it yet, so I'm not sure. Basically, this post is a complete waste of time.

Both Sides of the Gun is still in current rotation in my cd player..

p.s. OK guys, if some world changing album is released in the next six weeks, you could always change you vote or just add it to the list..

Not that big of a deal..

Nice, is it any good?

Kris P Lettus 11-09-2006 02:40 PM

Yes..

Double disc, one being more laid back RnB, the other being more rock based..

I dig the rock, my girl digs the RnB.. Best of both worlds..

Yeah, I would never have classed it as RnB though.

Kris P Lettus 11-09-2006 03:29 PM

It's just really laidback bluesy rock..

Rammsteinmad 11-09-2006 03:31 PM

I've only purchased one CD that was released this year, so I have to go with:

Godsmack - IV has been my favorite of the year. Breaking Benjamin - Phobia would be up there as well.

El Vaquero de Infierno 11-09-2006 05:32 PM

Regina Spektor - Begin to Hope
Chris Thile - How to Grow a woman from the ground
Ani DiFranco - Reprieve
Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist

redoneja 11-10-2006 04:06 PM

The Decemberists-The Crane Wife
Deftones-Saturday Night Wrist

I think these are the only 2006 releases I've bought. Stadium Arcadium was pretty good too. Bought the new Pearl Jam but I haven't really listened to it.

redoneja 11-10-2006 04:06 PM

Fuck, forgot about the new Stone Sour, that was a good album. And Johnny Cash's American V: A Hundred Highways.

Kane Knight 11-10-2006 05:25 PM

I'm trying to remember what came out this year, and this topic isn't helping.
