Green Day and U2 do a song together...
 

Yeah... Very non-impressed. I used to adore Green Day. WTF happened, man? I Guess 1991-2000 was forever ago.

Green Day was always one of my favorite bands. I even loved the American Idiot album when it first came out. The title track was a good opening single. Boulevard of Broken Dreams was probably my favorite song on the CD until the video came out and it got played to death. The Wake Me Up When September Ends video was pretty pretentious, what with the long-winded "dramatic" beginning, but the fact that they had the balls to make a video for Jesus of Suburbia was the straw that broke the camel's back. Come on, 9 minutes? it's not like it was some sweeping epic. It's four pop-punk songs strung together with some piano chords. And the video was so over-the-top with that "punk rock" fag, that I pretty much lost whatever respect I had left for the band.

I have not heard this collaboration song yet, and I don't really want to, because if there's anybody who thinks more highly than themselves than Green Day, it's the fucking wankers from U2.

Pearl Jam did RITFW with U2 a few times, and (from what I heard) Bono didn't do a very good job one of those times. He tried to rap or something. Pearl Jam sings RITFW all the time, so I wouldn't blame them.

And yes, I have heard this song, and its horrible. I love U2, and I appreciate Green Day, but it is pretty unbearable.

Green Day is the worst band of all time, and U2 is pretty terrible as well, so I bet it's garbage.

Before you go hating U2 and Green Day too much for the song, just remember it's a cover, so if it's shit, they're not entirely to blame.

The original was apparently written and first played pretty damn close to my house as well, apparently.

Green Day was like my favorite band ever when I was about 12.

I don't mind the song and downloaded it from iTunes cos its for good cause. Meh whatever doesn't blow me away or anything.

tbh I <3 Greenday (Which is weird, since my other favourite bands are Motorhead, Pantera, Killswitch Engage, So forth) but my god I hate them so much right now for doing that song with U2. FUCK U2. COMPTON
