Just bought an acoustic guitar..
Yeah, so I just went out and bought myself an acustic guitar. Anyways, I know pretty much diddly about music theory and how to play in general. I'm dying to begin learning how to play.. so can any one give me some good tips or maybe link me to a site that will help me out... that would be pretty cool...

try a tabs site, like mxtabs.net
its like a way to read music like --- --- -6- --- --- --- that means you would hold the 6th fret on the 3rd string and play it its pretty easy to learn songs |

Also, learning some basic theory might help your musicianship. You don't need to take advanced classes or anything, but it kinda helps your playing most of the time (And vice versa...Learning bass and piano has helped my theory work).
Learning voicing and movement moves has actually allowed me to write better parts for a guitar (Though I still confer with people on the parts, because I can't fret a fu</>cking guitar) |
