Joe vs Angle

So

Really underwhelming match tbh. Was expecting something a little more epic tbh. Only thing that I really found exciting was that ankle lock/kaji hatime sequence.

Thoughts?

Fignuts 11-21-2006 09:05 PM

tbh

Destor 11-21-2006 09:12 PM

Yeah, very dissapointing. They really didn't click at all. Can't blame either guy though, some people just don't have chemistry...

Testicle 11-21-2006 09:14 PM

it wasn't bad, but tna just ended it the wrong way

Fignuts 11-21-2006 09:17 PM

Yeah, kinda anti-climatic. Way too short.

I dunno, maybe they'll learn from this, and the rematch will be better. And the chemistry thing is bullshit. Angle doesn't need chemistry with someone to have a better match than that.

Destor 11-21-2006 09:20 PM

I disagree. Chemistry is a huge factor for anyone. Even Kurt Angle.

Londoner 11-21-2006 09:24 PM

Angle was probably just nervous about getting injured again.

Oh yeah definitely, Mark Henry versus Kurt Angle from this year's Royal Rumble main event backs this statement up.

Fox 11-21-2006 10:17 PM

I attribute the less than expected match to a few things:

1) Angle's rolled ankle,

2) The fact that there's an upcoming rematch, so they didn't want to go all out just yet, and

3) They rushed this whole thing way, way, way too fast. With a few exceptions, all of the great matches in history have been great in part because of the storyline behind them. There's no storyline here besides a vicious headbutt. And Al Snow headbutted things all the time. Look where he is. Headbutting, an angle, does not make.

Mr. Nerfect 11-21-2006 10:24 PM

I haven't seen the match yet, but I shall check it out. I've only heard good things about the actual quality, though. The ending was a bit controversial, but I've heard it was good up until that.

Angle should not get wet feet about getting back in the ring. At Turning Point, he should go all out with Joe. I don't want to see him injured, but the whole point of getting this feud going so quickly, was so we could see the dream match everyone was salivating for. To hold back and drag it out is oxymoronic.

It does when you're going by Vince Russo's logic.

(sorry, i just can't help taking cheap shots at him lately, its getting too easy....)

The Fear 11-22-2006 03:05 AM

Tbh, it really did seem underwhelming, and overrated. They rushed it, the match wasn't all that long. And basically the drama one would expect from a match like this really didn't seem to be there.

But I'd venture to agree with Fox, that they might not want to go all out for a match yet. Just hoping the rematch turns out alot better than the first match.

Lock Jaw 11-23-2006 12:50 AM

Problem with the match was that Joe got most of the offense. Kurt never really had control of the match. There was no great back and forth momentum shifts. It was pretty much Joe dominates, Angle gets off like one or two moves, Joe dominates, Angle wins.

 @ people who were expecting it to be good

It was a good match, was just far too short. Match had a good pace to it and was entertaining, but like the SD! main event at WM 22, just far to short.

I don't know why is failed, but I am inclinde to blame Enron.

That or the fact that Samoa Joe is quite possibly the single most over rated worker in history. The way some of you cream over him, I am starting to think it's just you love staring at tits of any kind and since you can't get women's, you settle for fat man breasts.

TOVO Fact: Tovo thinks Angle is slightly over hyped by people on TPWW too...but only slightly.

I'd rep you if I hadn't already done it today. :(
