Is it wrong to like the Jets and the Mets?
 

See, I'm a fan of the Jets in the NFL, and a fan of the Mets in MLB. But most New York sports fans either like the Jets and the Yankees, or the Giants and Mets. (Like Triple A, Nervous Ferret, Gonzo, etc.) But then I watched King of Queens and Doug is a Jets and Mets fan. So I dunno, does it matter who you're a fan of? Or should you really be either a Jets and Yankees fan, or a Giants and Mets fan?

you got it backwards. Jets, Mets, Nets usually go together. See a pattern.

FakeRazor is Yankees/Giants so meh. I'm a Yankee fan and if pushed a Giants fan in the NFL, though I've not followed it since I was a wee laddy

erah like Triple A said. If anything you have it right and I have it wrong. It is all split up pretty evenly with combinations of Jets/Giants/Yankees and Mets but if anything I would say maybe a few more Yankee fans are Giant fans than Jets but its all even I guess

I've always considered the Mets and Jets to be more Long Island teams, whereas the Yankees and Giants were more the people of Manhattan and New Jersey.

theres no combo you need to like, i think it is more giants/yanks and jets/mets actually, THE ONLY reason being,

JETS used to play in Shea Stadium where the Mets played, before they moved into Giants Stadium

NY GIANTS played in yankee stadium before giants stadium was built. giants played one year at shea though.

This is correct. I've always seen more Giants/Yankee fans and Mets/Jets fans. I think it's because the Giants and the Yankees are the "old school" teams whereas the Mets and Jets are both newer. I don't know.

The thing that I've always wondered is the Islanders and Rangers in the NHL, I don't think I've ever met or spoken to an Islanders fan.

That's what I thought. Just wondering though, seeing as I live on the other side of the world and stuff.

The Islanders have no fans. They are a useless team.
