Cloud vs Link

While reading on Wikipedia about Pirates vs Ninjas I discoved that there is actually a debate as to who would win, Cloud or Link. Once reading this I knew what must be done: TPWW, who would win? Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7 or Link from the Legend of Zelda series?

Extreme Angle 12-06-2006 11:02 AM

Cloud because I love ff and I only played wind waker which was awesome.

El Fangel 12-06-2006 11:20 AM

One word

Omnislash.

What Would Kevin Do? 12-06-2006 01:25 PM

Cloud

Silent 12-06-2006 01:25 PM

Cloud because Knights of the Round Table would own Link.

UmbrellaCorporation 12-06-2006 02:16 PM

This wouldn't even be a match. Cloud would royally own face here.

D Mac 12-06-2006 03:04 PM

Mario

loopydate 12-06-2006 04:49 PM

If Cloud couldn't summon, it'd be a fair fight. But, seriously, if Cloud could use Knights of the Round, Link would be all kinds of dead.

But in a straight-up sword fight, it'd at least be close.

Blitz 12-06-2006 04:54 PM

Cloud.

Kapoutman 12-06-2006 06:23 PM

I will have to go with Link because he's the underdog, he's my sentimental pick and because there are about 8 or 9 Links in all. I don't know what that Knights of the Round thing is, but I guess that summoning 6 sages, three spirits of light, 3 Godesses and the power of the Triforce would be enough to beat anybody.

Man, this has to be the geekiest thread I have ever posted in. :o

Winner. Thread over.

UmbrellaCorporation 12-06-2006 09:48 PM

^ No question.

Requiem 12-06-2006 10:30 PM

Link. Final Fantasy is terrible due to turn-based gameplay. (YEAH I SAID IT) Therefore, Cloud is gay by default and Link wins.

El Fangel 12-06-2006 10:46 PM

Ninti the Mad 12-07-2006 12:24 AM

Dont know why people think Link has a chance.

Its murder.

Kapoutman 12-07-2006 12:28 AM

Wow, how many hit points do enemies have in that game? It's ridiculous.

LoDownM 12-07-2006 12:31 AM

Not really, it scales with how powerful the later summons and limit breaks are, that, and it's the end of the game, it's not supposed to be a walk in and walk out type of deal. And the ultimate summon for the game used on a normal monster like that, is over kill and a waste of mp :p

Blitz 12-07-2006 12:32 AM

The most an enemy had was upwards of a million HP, I believe (Emerald Weapon, I think).

LoDownM 12-07-2006 12:35 AM

I hated that fight :( Must of seen the game over screen 40 times just from him.

Blitz 12-07-2006 12:36 AM

God yes.

Ruby weapon was worse tho.

LoDownM 12-07-2006 12:39 AM

Didn't have much of a problem with Ruby. Got him on the 5th try . Game made me suffer with Emerald tho :'(

Fignuts 12-07-2006 12:58 AM

Dude if Link has the triforce then forget about it.

D Mac 12-07-2006 04:11 AM

"Use the Triforce, Luke" :shifty:

Funky Fly 12-07-2006 04:25 AM

Granted, Link would get raped, but Cloud is a shit what needs wiping up. So I voted Link.

Silent 12-07-2006 04:23 PM

Final Fantasy 8 had the most ridiculous cut scenes for summons (GFs) I remember the Bahamut and Eden ones to be especially long and epic.

LoDownM 12-07-2006 05:06 PM

Bahamut wasnt that long in 8. Eden tho, you could be asleep and get his boost to 250 it was so long.

Silent 12-07-2006 07:05 PM

Oh it wasn't Bahamut then.. I was thinking of one where he flies up into space and then attacks them from up there.

PapaGeorgio 12-07-2006 07:07 PM

Couldn't Link just own the fuck out of Cloud when Cloud is selecting what moves he wants to do.

And with the 45 minutes it takes setting up the move.

LoDownM 12-07-2006 07:33 PM

You might of been thinking of Bahamut Zero from 7 Silent. Still, not as long a freaking Eden lol.

Fignuts 12-07-2006 07:58 PM

Or link could own the fuck out of him while he's acting like a pussy emo shit.

Which is always.

road doggy dogg 12-07-2006 09:18 PM

Link would push that emo faggot's shit in.

LOL, I could see Cloud bitching for Link to wait his turn (whilst getting a Master Sword upside his head.)

I understand that, but I think that the numbers are unnecessary high. In Paper Mario, the end boss has about 200HP, but Mario just makes less damage. You don't need ridiculously high numbers to show that something hurt.

"Woah! Cloud just made 100000 damage! Oh wait, the boss has 967834651 HP."

Destor 12-07-2006 10:31 PM

On a side note: Paper Mario was the goods.

I fought that son of a bitch, and summoned KOTR 47 times before it dies, meaning that it had anywheres from,

46x129,987+1=5,979,403 HP

to

47x129,987=6,109,389 HP

Since the summon is 13x9999 which is 129,987.
